The 12-Metre America II in Liberty Harbor, New Jersey
Between the America’s Cup trials and Comet Halley being more visible in the Southern Hemisphere, it seems like 1986 was just a good year to travel to Australia as an American in general.
The Comet Halley and Challenger talk on my other blog and reading The Inside Story of KZ-7 does make me realize that this is the year (well, towards the end of this year) that AC 26 + 40 begins. Obviously I can’t immerse myself in it as thoroughly as I did for AC 25 because you can’t take Amtrak from New York to Fremantle, but I should pivot to the appropriate books and documentaries.
