You know the tendency to construct a narrative out of the random events and encounters you have in Animal Crossing? Here are my headcanons from Inaw Isle:

-Every other day, Velma asked me to deliver apology gifts to other residents she’d had falling-outs with. She must’ve realized that she’d burned all her bridges, because she moved away shortly afterwards.

-I kept seeing Phoebe with Keaton for a while, and then suddenly Phoebe wanted to leave. I suspect they had a bad breakup.

-Now I see Keaton and Skye together all the time, so I’m thinking they’re an item.

-Louie had me deliver a gift he was “too shy” to give to Keaton. It turned out to be a dress, and afterwards Louie was very keen to see how Keaton looked in it. Unrequited crush...?

-Fauna and Cranston are best friends. All the conversations I overhear between them are wholesome.

-Fauna may be sweet and cute, but she’s got some macabre interests. She once cheerfully taught me how to craft a gravestone.

-There’s an old moss-covered grave on the bluff, and it’s the only spot where pink windflowers grow. I put a lantern, a book, and a shovel next to it, because visual storytelling. One day, I found a lost bag up there, and it turned out to belong to Fauna. She was very agitated when I returned it, and seemed worried someone had seen what was inside it. Hmm...
