WE GOT A DATE BOIS
✨Morgan Hurd is the 2020 American Cup champion ✨
For those that can't tell what she's doing here, she's using a trowel to create the paths. This tool is used commonly in masonry to spread plaster/similar substances. The fact that she is putting the tiles down one by one says to me that we will likely have some options on path textures, and also it is likely that we'll be able to create our own path patterns and put them down easily. Also I didn't see any signs of grass wear in the trailer, I'm not sure if that means the mechanic is not included or if they just didn't want it in the trailer. I don't know what that means but hopefully we will have the option to have natural looking paths as well!

2020 American Cup, commentators discussing how early the meet is in the year.
Commentator: It gets late fast though, in an Olympic year.
Me: Not in 2020!
Our guy, @chaseblakely_ has some bangers in the AC2020 video. Check out this heat from MN! Link in bio. #peoplesnowboard #ac2020 #weslashharder (at People Skate & Snowboard) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF7jMPtAbjR/?igshid=1jbjnmx1jzytl
Thoughts on American Cup
-It’s definitely early in the year
-The fact the broadcasts were behind subscription-based paywalls is terrible for the sport. I’d love to be watching the MAG competition right now, but I’m not getting cable!
-Bars were cursed
-USAG didn’t archive Charpy’s first bar routine, but the internet provided. That was terrifying. I am glad she is okay and that she got to redo it and no one was stupid about it
-Good to see Ellie back, and I hope she can work on her polish a bit
-Gadirova is awesome and I can’t wait to watch her get better all year. The DTY, the full-in, the floor routine!
-Hurd needed this competition. This is more the Morgan we’re used to, but she’s going to need to use this as a building block, not hold steady here
-Solid senior debut from DiCello, but she’s going to need to build on this too. Today’s showing was solid alternate material
-Someday, Villa is going to put it all together and it will be spectacular. Today was not that day
-Rough meet for Jin, but her tsuk double full--not much amplitude, but man can she twist quickly. Also love the whip-triple-punch front
-Voss and Varinska are beautiful gymnasts and I will always love them
-I will definitely be watching Hatakeda. I wasn’t expecting Japan to get one of the +1s from the AA WCs, but she’s put them in a great position
Watching routines from American Cup and all I can say is the bars are cursed.
