I just saw the writing scores for a fifth grade class of fifty-three students. It's a new test by Houghton-Mifflin, and the scores came back quickly because Oklahoma slapped a lawsuit on them last year. Maybe too quickly.
Forty-three students have completely identical scores. Not just overall scores, but for each individual element/skill. That is impossible. You cannot have forty-three people of varying writing ability in two classrooms end up with the same score across every subsection.
The worst part is that all of these students are listed as one point away from Satisfactory. All those kids who should legitimately have scored higher are being screwed, as their teachers, principal, and school. This could affects some student's grade level retention, school performance reports, and funding.
Houghton-Mifflin has committed either negligence or fraud. Children are going to suffer for it.
