If you count Geoff's cover of Trust In Me, and the inclusion of Poor Unfortunate Souls in the Little Mermaid Medley (which I definitely do), then six out of ten of the songs in Aca Top 10 Disney Villains have been re-covered since its release in March 2019. And look, I gotta give a large amount of credit and acknowledgement to Huldra Draco, who has comparison videos for each of these songs (and more!) on her channel, putting the same lyrical parts of the different versions back-to-back for direct comparison, but I had a very specific idea that basically boiled down to "hey what if there was a sort of compilation video where the Aca Top 10 song version flowed directly into the newer versions, as a continuation of the song?"
So yeah, I had a Vision, and I do in fact have some experience with basic video editing (I sometimes quite enjoy it, even, though I rarely do it), and so I made this!

VoicePlay - Oogie Boogie's Song vs Be Prepared
When you've got two covers of Disney (or at least Disneyish) villain songs, and both come with a "full-production" video with makeup, costuming, and set design, and both of them feature Geoff on lead vocals, well, you should probably expect a few notable points of comparison. I noticed a decent handful of random interesting similarities between these two videos, and I wanted to share them!

2019 vs 2023 - or more specifically, Mr Blue Sky vs In The Air Tonight
What can I say, I like doing visual comparisons, and I've had this idea bouncing around my head for a fair while, and it was just a matter of actually getting around to taking the screenshots for it. Why these two videos? Well other than the time gap (and the fact that I wanted to include J None), I knew the camera angles/filming directions of both were relatively similar to each other, and also similar colour schemes for the clothing! (Other than J's blazer).
When I was watching Carol Of The Bells on Patreon I was like "hey I'm pretty sure he's done that kinda movement before in YDMAWJ" and I was right!
Yeah look idk fam I just enjoy being able to pick up on commonalities and repeated mannerisms and all that stuff. It's just fun!
Zat You Santa Claus lyrics - VoicePlay vs original
I mentioned in my thoughts/commentary post that VoicePlay had made some changes to the song lyrics compared to how the original went (according to Google anyway), but it took me a few more listens and a bit more checking the original song lyrics to realise just how many differences there are between the two, even down to the smallest alteration or word insertion/replacement! Honestly I wish VoicePlay's video had proper closed captions on it so it would be easier for me to learn the song quicker, but oh well, you can have this comparison thing I made anyhow!
