Lately it wasn’t very often that Leonardo had visitors -- and it wasn’t often that he realized he had visitors, too. As cluttered as the workshop was, it was easy to find a half-finished project buried under other half-finished projects, clamoring for his time and concentration.

So when he looked up from an extension for Ezio’s blade to find that he wasn’t alone in the room Leonardo did a double-take.

“-- Officer Viscardi,” he smiled, discreetly pushing the blade out of view.

Early morning is the best time to go for a stroll about the rooftops.

One lap around all of Rome.

"-- look, as much an accomplished prankster I am, I have never put anyone's life in danger." Besides, what good would come of killing off Leonardo? Nothing, that's what.

I heard you need thieves for you crew...?

"I wouldn't say I need thieves for my crew," he said, sizing up the young man. Blonde, like Leonardo, though most definitely not of similar temper. "But if you are in need of safety and shelter and can do an honest night's work, you're more than welcome to join our ranks."

"….You do?" The doctor was taken aback, very much so- Normally he would get mistaken for Malfatto, but this time.. Leonardo had told someone about /him/. "So I take it you are friends with Leonardo?" [DON’T WORRY I DON’T EAT FOXES]

"Friends, with Leonardo? That madman? I've known him longer than you were alive," Volpe said, straightening up, though his eyes were still wary. "And yes, he has told me about you -- apparently you are one of the few he can call amico in the damned castello."

The Wolf and the Fox

"Proud, because you have risen from the dirt and you’ve grown into a wolf.” La Volpe gave a chuckle. “Tell me, are you not proud? Are you not proud that you’ve made it so far, without me? Though I must say, perhaps I should have kept a better eye on you — ” here his lips turned up in a sneer. “And I would not have a Templar for a son, even if his claim to such a title is only through blood.”

He slashed a hand before him in an angered gesture and said, “My current career was no choice of mine, nor do I wish to continue to serve those whom I do not trust. I was forced into this just as you forced me into the life of an orphan, you coward.”

He couldn't help it.

La Volpe laughed.

"You won't get a rise out of me by calling me a coward, bambino," he said, though his eyes were sharp, and blinked as he heard what Lupo said. "You do not trust your masters? Why, what a terrible wolf you are -- but perhaps that is why you are a wolf, and not a hound."

The second time he was taken by surprise today. He really must do something about it.

"Oh, I know you," Volpe said, stepping back a little and whisking his cape out of the way. "You're that kindhearted dottore that Leonardo has befriended."

He'd heard some other things about the doctor, but no need to wave around suspicions and allegations.
