I’d like to present a challenge to all of my serial “likers” out there…

…you know who you are. My readers who I know are consistent readers because they always “like” a post.

First off, I want to say thank you, because I truly appreciate and value your following and your continued interest in my work. I’m serious when I say I value you, and there are several of you who I’ve reached out to privately to thank because I’ve noticed your consistent presence. 💗

HOWEVER, to ALL of the serial “likers” out there who strictly “like” stuff but do not interact beyond that, I’d like to pose a challenge for you: Send me an anonymous message with a comment, question, or just general feedback whenever you read something of mine.

It’s my understanding that many silent readers are hesitant to interact beyond “likes” (or some of you are totally silent and don’t “like” but still read) due to embarrassment in revealing through reblogs or comments that they enjoy a certain theme, writer’s work, or whatever, or you’re simply concerned that you’ll sound silly (which, trust me, you won’t).

NEWSFLASH: THATS WHAT THE “ANONYMOUS” FEATURE IS FOR!

This isn’t about wanting attention, this is about wanting to hear from you why you enjoyed something I created and/or what specifically you enjoyed. It’s how I feel connected to my audience (wow, that sounds so pompous and cliche. Sorry! 🤣) and how I learn what you enjoy seeing and reading.

Please, consider this “Anonymous Challenge” and along with being a serial “liker”, be a serial Anonymous commenter. “Anonymous” allows you to both step outside your comfort zone while still maintaining your preference to be nameless, so please take advantage of that, both for me, as well as any other writers you enjoy.

I believe in you! I know you can do it! Let us hear you!

My attempt:

Green leaves sway in chatter,

as the wind tickles the branches below.

Of plenty shapes and sizes, they come

None more noticeable than the Raphia regalis holds -

in palm. Like the hundreds of opportunites

at the grasp of the hand.

Leaves fall

into dead paper weight pictographs.

Name: Mel  Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight  Star Sign: Scorpio  Height: 5ft 2 Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw and Gryffindor but I think I’d be placed in Ravenclaw. (My friend made me take the test a few times and we came up with a straight 50/50. I found it hilarious.) Favorite color: Red (like Scarlet or Ruby) and Olive green recently.  Favorite animal: Um, otters? Ferrets? Idk, never had like a super favorite animal... except when I was a kid and had a slight obsession with baby seals... Current Time: 5:30pm distracting myself from a stomach virus my middle son brought home...  Cats or Dogs: Dog person. I’ve had cats but we get on in a very adversarial way because I know what’s up... gate keepers of hell don’t like you to know. Favorite Fictional Characters: Holy shit, seriously? I’ve read way too many books and seen too many good shows for this question..  Although obviously, Sherlock Holmes is one... and Jay Gatsby, Liz Parker, Charlie, Dean Winchester, Alex Cross, Ginny Weasley, Mike Noonan, Rosie Dunne, Charlie Bradbury, Peeta Mellark, Oliver Wood, I should stop before this gets out of hand... (it’s already gotten out of hand because I have a bunch of characters in my head saying wtf, ME!) Number of blankets I sleep under: What? A sheet... more than that would depend on a cold spell in texas... Favorite Singer/Band: Aw, come on! My music range is all over the place and what I’m listening to rotates depending on mood or what I’m writing. From jazz to indie, classic rock to pop/punk rock, blues to singer-songwriter, like yikes, a favorite? Ummm, my recently played list includes Ray Lamontagne(writing), Sara Bareilles(writing), and Hamilton original Broadway recording. I’ve listened to Sheryl Crow, Bon Jovi, and Led Zeppelin/LynyrdSkynyrd since middle school so they’d probably be the longest in my mix tapes/playlists. Dream Trip: Ireland, Scotland, and England. Maybe take the train to a few more nearby countries if I could.  Dream Job: Author, Editor, Psychologist, or Professor. Totally weird, I know.  When has this blog hit its peak: Is this like a are you an optimist or pessimist type question? Realist: I have no bloody idea. When did you decide to get tumblr: After binge watching seven seasons of Supernatural during the late late nights with my second son and looked for more info on the show and was introduced to the magical world of Tumblr. When was this blog created: Umm, Nov? October according to my Archive. Why did I pick my URL: Well, I made a Supernatural fan fic page and when I got the idea for this Sherlock fic I wanted to keep it close to my original. SimpleMan is one of my favorite songs especially when it comes to Dean Winchester who I mainly wrote about. So SimplySherlockfanfic just had a nice ring to it and the connection to SpnSimpleMan that I wanted.

Okay so I’m supposed to tag twenty people but is it a total cop out to tag all of you? Because there’s over 900 of you fantastic starshines and I’m slightly high... naturalish high though due to lack of sleep and nutrition of any kind except for water, I’ve got water. But do this and tag me, no say I tagged you so I can see it. :) Out of nine hundred something I should get at least twenty, right?

and this makes me sad

because soon
