Hello and welcome to the first year of Fluffuary! This is a prompt based event open to all fandoms! Created by two authors who couldn't find a fluff event for January so decided to make their own.
To reiterate, this is our first year running this event and first time either of us has ever run an event like this so please bear with us as we work out the kinks! Below the cut you'll find our rules, posting information, written prompts, and 10 alternative prompts! Thank you so much for checking us out and we hope to have a great fluffuary with you!
Click here for our 2026 Ao3 Collection
How This Works (Rules/Posting Info):
This is a multifandom event for January because we couldn’t find any others for this month! You’re free to post for any fandom, ship, platonic pairing, or whatever else! No minimum or maximum word counts. The only restriction is the fic must be fluffy, and absolutely no generative A.I. usage.
Hurt/comfort is allowed, but with a focus on the comfort please. N/SFW both allowed, but be sure to tag properly. Minors please do not submit or interact with NSFW submissions.
Sexually explicit RPF involving real minors is not allowed.
Though this was made with the intention of being a writing challenge, all art forms are welcome! Writing, art, edits, whatever else!
We follow the classic fandom rule: Don’t Like, Don’t Read/Interact. We will not police what you choose to write about, as long as it’s fluffy and properly tagged. Harassment of any kind is not allowed, and if you are found harassing others you will be blocked and works removed from the Ao3 collection.
Our tag is #fluffuary2026 Please make sure you do NOT put a space between fluffuary and 2026 or we may not see your post. Use our hashtag and tag us for the best chance of us seeing your works and reblogging them.
Yes, we will be reblogging posts we see but please keep in mind we are only two people and may miss some. If a day or two has gone by without us reblogging your post, send an ask to our inbox with a link to the post please!
Last submissions are welcome but unfortunately, for the sake of organization, we will not be reblogging those works! Early submissions are welcome too!
You do not have to write for every single day! Write for one day, write for five days, or write for them all if you wish. Furthermore, you can bend and twist the prompts however you need — don’t worry about if you’re getting too far off base. This event is for fun at the end of the day, participate however you want to.
Have questions or concerns? First check #fluffuaryquestions to see if we've already answered. If not, please feel free to send a message to our inbox or privately if you'd prefer!
🍁🍃 Hello and welcome to our sixth annual Flufftober 🍃🍁
Every year, we're so excited to share our prompts with you and look forward to all your beautiful creations that will fill the month of October with all the fluff 🥰 also, we're trying something new this year, so make sure to scroll all the way down and don't stop at the main list of 31 prompts or the usual list of alt prompts...😏
But first things first 😊
🍁 As with all our events, our standard blog rules apply, and you'll find answers to most questions on our FAQ post.
🍁 Below the cut, you'll find the necessary posting info, all the prompts in writing, and explanations for some prompts.
🍁 Please make sure to read the entire post! If you have any questions after that, feel free to send us an ask.
So many Prompt Extras 😍
🍁Yes, we heard your plea for more alternative prompts 😉
🍁 We also heard the tears of our friends in the Southern Hemisphere...
🍁 As always, you're welcome to replace prompts from the original list for whatever reason - no explanation needed.
Remember, you can use the Prompt Extras however you like:
💜 to replace a prompt from the original list
💜 to create even more content aside from the original prompts
💜 mixed together to enhance one or more of the other prompts
Whichever way you use them, have fun and go wild 🍃
You promised us something new 👀
Yes, we did - so welcome to the 2026 Flufftober Challenge Tasks 😁
We hope you like these prompts, and now
Happy Creating 🥳
What's the tag to get reblogged? ✍️
🍁 The tag is #flufftober2026
Make sure there is NO SPACE between flufftober and 2026! We will NOT be checking other variations of this tag!
🍁 It's also good to mention us: @flufftober
🍁 We try to reblog regularly, but tumblr likes to be difficult and wonky. If you're absolutely certain a post has slipped past us, please send us an ask with the link to your post.
🍁 Please make sure that all info is easy to find, either in the post or the tags. It takes a lot of time and energy to research every other post. So, please make sure to at least include the following very clearly:
💜 the day/alt/challenge prompt
💜 the fandom(s) (add "original work" or similar if applicable)
💜 the characters and/or ship(s) (add "oc" or similar if applicable)
What about the ao3 collection? 📝
🍁 The collection's name is Flufftober 2026 (either as flufftober2026 or as flufftober_2026)
🍁 Our collections will never close, so you can always add any late entries.
Deadlines are my nemesis 🥹
Don't worry, late entries are always welcome!
🍁 Reblogs will become less regular after the event has ended.
🍁 We will stop checking the event tag after a few months, so please make sure to tag us: @flufftober

Autistic character month is a writing/art challenge starting on the first of April 2026. You can participate with writing and art about autistic characters (canonically autistic, or autistic to you; original characters are allowed as well). There are two prompts for each day. You can use just the first prompt, just the second prompt, or both, or replace one of them (or both) with a bonus prompt. You don't have to fill all the prompts / participate every day to participate in the challenge.
You can add your work to the collection on Ao3, tag your tumblr posts about/with your work as #autistic character month 2026, and tag me into your posts directly, and I will reblog them.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
You can find the prompts (as well as additional, more specific, ideas about them!!) below the cut.
For each day, the first prompt is an "autism prompt", and the second prompt (given in bold) is a "general prompt" (sometimes this distinction may seem quite vague). All the "bonus ideas" listed below are more specific interpretations of the "autism prompt"; you may use any of them as a point of inspiration if you like, but you may obviously write about any other different interpretation of the "autism prompt" as well.
Special interest + Music (bonus ideas: infodumping; intense cycles of special interests; sharing a special interest)
Communication difficulties + Intrigue (bonus ideas: not being understood; social cues, eye contact, volume control)
Proprioception & dyspraxia + Sportsball (bonus ideas: not noticing injury; autistic athletes with higher proprioception)
Meeting another autistic person (for the first time) + Childhood (bonus ideas: undiagnosed character (who doesn't know much about autism) meets a diagnosed character, struggles to understand why they click so well; 5 + 1 (or 3 + 1) reasons character A suspects character B is autistic (character A could be autistic themself and seeing parallels); autistic child meets an autistic adult for the first time; meeting someone with the same special interest)
Underrepresented autistic traits + Outdoors (bonus ideas: the bad at maths style autism)
Bad sensory experiences + Overworking yourself
Diagnosis + Reading (bonus ideas: diagnosis later in life, struggling with a diagnosis)
Good sensory experiences + Water (bonus ideas: compression, favorite texture)
Touch + Hair braiding (bonus ideas: touch averse; a character who is simultaneously touch averse and touch starved; accepting / declining touch)
Speech & language (differences / difficulties) + Jack of all trades, master of none (bonus ideas: literalism; speech loss / verbal shutdown; selective mutism)
Stimming + Color (bonus ideas: musical stims; oral stimming; things you didn't realize were stims)
Community & acceptance + Holding hands for comfort
Caretaking + Wound tending
Emotions & Alexithymia + Grief/Mourning
Assistive tools + First date (stim toys, sensory regulation tools like noise-cancelling headphones, communicative devices like AAC, etc)
Empathy & theory of mind + Secret identity (bonus ideas: hyperempathy, hypoempathy, low theory of mind)
Bonus prompts (you can replace any of the "general prompts" (given in bold) above with any of the "general prompts" below, likewise for "autism prompts". You can also combine the bonus prompts however you like).
Above is the official Hurtcember 2025 prompts list.
Below are alternative prompts in case one doesn't want to do a few of the prompts (but still do the whole challenge) or for those who just want to write/draw more.
Both lists are typed out at the bottom of this post.
RULES
1. You can write/draw for any fandom or pairing
2. You can write/draw SFW or NSFW content, just label it accordingly
3. Please tag any Tumblr posts sharing your prompt fills with #hurtcember2025 so that we can find and repost them
4. If you post your works to AO3, please add them to this collection and add "Hurtcember" and/or "Hurtcember 2025" to the additional tags of your prompt fill(s)
5. The challenge officially starts on December 1st but feel free to write/draw before then and/or submit things after the month ends officially, whatever works best for you
6. Be kind to other participants
7. You DO NOT have to do every single prompt if you don't want to. The point is to have fun and spark creativity, not to feel like you're doing a chore

Domaystic comes from “domestic” + “May” and it's a prompt event that runs throughout May with a list of 31 prompts for its 31 days. And also 5 alternatives are back. The overall theme is that of the domestic trope: anything inside, outside, beside the house or that has that normalcy flavor of everyday life.
Anyone, in their own way of expression, is welcome to use the prompts and create: fics, art, gifs, podcasts, whatever tickles your fancy, there are no restrictions. For any questions or such, the ask inbox is always open :)
Hello, all! I’m @staticmothhell, stepping in for g. to make sure we have Domaystic this year! I’ll be doing my best to run it in the same way, so you all hopefully won’t notice too much different. The one thing is that I’ll likely be slow and/or erratic with my reblogging during May. Rest assured I’ll still be reblogging everything tagged as properly (as described below).
Thank you all for your patience with me!

All fandoms or original content are welcome.
Any kind of media is welcome.
No restrictions in ships, size, pixels, min/max word count or language.
There are a 31 prompts, one for each day of the month + 5 alternatives if needed.
If you plan to share your work, and if you want, you can add it on the 2026 AO3 collection; or, by tagging or mentioning this blog here on tumblr, I'll reblog it.
It's okay to combine more prompts together or with another event.
You don’t have to do all the prompts: do the ones you enjoy.
Domaystic runs actively throughout May; tracking #domaystic2026, mentions @domaystic, and previous years tags too; if you tag the blog on a later date, that’s fine too, I just reblog on a lower pace after May is over.
