You have to love yourself, or you'll never be able to accept compliments from anyone. - I was that person who couldn't respond to a compliment with just a "thank you." Sometimes I still can't. I would respond with, "thank you, but I don't even look that cute," or something of the sorts. For instance, I've had plenty of people tell me that I have beautiful eyes, and I would always look confused. To me, someone would only compliment you on your eyes if they were a particular color, so I would automatically reject these specific compliments. The world has messed with my perception of beauty if we're keeping it real. - I share this to say, just because your beauty isn't similar to someone else's does not make your beauty less than theirs.
