THIS is to give Notice, That Dr. Benjamin Thornhill is to be advised with at his Dwelling House at the Lamp in St. John’s Court in Cow-Lane near West Smithfield, London, every Day in the Week, from Seven in the Morning till Ten, and from Six till Ten at Night. For the Good of all People that lye languishing under any Distemper, he will give his Advice Gratis: And he has proper Medicines for all Manner of Diseases, the Sick, Lame, Blind, Deaf and Diseased, if cureable, he being the now the only [sic] Person in Great Britain that can cure the King’s-Evil. He has cured above two thousand five hundred several Persons of that Distemper: Any One that desires may have a Catalogue of the Persons cured, and where they live. The Doctor would advise all that are afflicted with it to come to him, it being the fall of the Leaf, a proper time of the Year to be cured. He has three Affidavits, Swore before three several Lord Mayors of London, to testifie his Cures, viz. the late Sir James Bateman, Sir William Lewen, and Sir John Ward, present Lord Mayor, to testifie his Cures perform’d. Remember what the great and wise Philosopher Plato saith, Inter bona humana primum locum tribuit Sanitati; amongst all good Things of this Life he esteemeth Health to be the principal. And, if any Persons are afflicted weith that desperate Distemper, the Morbus Gallicus, the French Pox or Clap, tho’ of never so long continuance, and left off by a great many Pretenders as uncurable, he can cure them with his famous Pills, three Doses for five Shillings, and his Dieuretical Nostram, at Five Shillings the Bottle, both being Seal’d with his own Coat of Arms, for fear of Counterfeits. They are to be had at his House any time of the Day; at the Adam and Eve the Corner of Southampton Street in Covent Garden; and at the Horns in the Hay-Market, White Chappel, with Directions. Read, Judge, try, and speak as you find.
