They are an organization that, among other things, offer two yearly conferences to educate and advocate for yoga for all. Various presenters from all over the globe come to this conference to connect, learn, and grow. No sweaty power vinyasa classes here - all classes (my session does not include asana) are adaptable and inclusive to all ability levels! Over my years of teaching, I have gone to many conferences. I have had many great teachers. It is only recently that I began to teach conferences. Prior to that, I was an avid conference attendee. I love the opportunity of meeting new people in a learning environment to me that's empowering and educational. Most of the conferences I went to focussed on able bodied asana. There weren't options on how to do things. I always felt slightly out of place because everyone was so able-bodied, flexible, hyper-mobile and looked to certain way. I was always on the outside of that. This was the first conference I went to in which I felt like I belonged. Yoga was so full and rich and authentic. It wasn't about expensive gear or complicated asana. I learned to teach to different populations in a way that no other conference could offer. I am grateful to be presenting at Accessible Yoga Conference and to be an ambassador but I'm also thrilled to be attending and learning from these wonderful teachers. I hope you can join me.
