Reorganization is so refreshing. My side if the art room usually becomes a disorganized dumping ground when I'm designing. My husband is thankful it stays to my zone. Last night I sorted about 95% of it. Recycled so much, gave away a project, and filled my yarn bins to the brink of never closing. 😂 None of that releasing of stuff. My house on a Friday night... Instead of being filled with teenagers! Nipped that shxt in the bud. They kept using my space for their flop house where they did things they couldn't get away with at home. Told them no more! I finally replaced the purple blackout curtains my ex picked out and got these amazing black silk blackout curtains (I already had the accent swag). When I get discouraged by injustice I remember the heroes of history. People who were persistent, resistant and brilliantly courageous in the face of insurmountable circumstances. I am watching Marshall the movie and I moved by the bravery of those who fight for justice against all odds. Times are tough now but we have triumphed so much. We still have so far to go. I am reminded of my legacy.i remember this blood also runs in my veins. I must carry the torch forward. I must not be afraid. Black history is part of the larger mosaic that is our collective history. I honour Black History Month as a reminder that so many fought and died so I may have a voice. I am reminded that my life matters; my ancestors lives matter and that black lives matter, people of colour matter, we are not space takers we are contributors and creators of culture. #thisiswhatayogilookslike #reclaimingmyspace @zishanaliphotography

I feel blissfully exhausted from a great weekend @spiritloft. Taking the rest of the day off. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those who collaborated and shared their knowledge and expertise so generously. I loved how especially new teachers are open to learning something a little bit different little bit unique. I hope I never lose that curiosity and inquisitiveness. I think it makes us better teachers not just be rigid and what we’ve been taught.The objective is to always be open to learning new things and making new connections.
