Fluff prompt: ace dallison and cuddles
“Fuck today,” Allison says when she comes in, jaw set and shoulders bunched up. “Just fuck all of today, honestly.”
Derek raises an eyebrow at her from where he’s sprawled on the couch reading the book she got him.
“Wanna talk about it?” he asks.
“No.”
“Then c’mere.”
She stands her ground, shifting her weight and huffing.
“You’re cute when you pout.”
“Oh, shut up!” she says, but it makes her smile, and then she’s rolling her eyes at him and crossing over to the couch.
Derek lays his book down and lifts his arms up, waiting until she falls into them.
“Oof. Welcome home, baby.”
She snuggles into his neck and breathes him in, lets the feeling of calm and safety and home wash over her. Derek strokes his fingers up and down her back and tells her about his day and his book, holding her close against him.
“I should get up. Fix something for dinner,” she says after her breath slows. Derek grips her tighter.
“Not yet. I made pasta. We can eat in a minute. Stay here, with me.”
She smiles and burrows tighter against him.
“If you insist.”
