uh, yeah, that happened to me. (specifically my sideblog, this-is-aromantic-joy) im a bit shaken up now but i think im alright. also, this is how i find out that you canât report people for hate speech??
This is acephobic, and definitely someone to add to a blocklist!
Being an ace-spec (specifically aegosexual) Christian with parents who believe that the very concepts of asexuality, aromanticism, and aroasexuality are bullshit in and of themselves is HELL
(I'm closeted around my parents not only because of that but bc they're also the type of Christians who believe in the "being LGBTQ+ = being a sinner" thing)

There's a very popular contemporary romance novel where the female main character says to the male main character that "something is wrong with [her] brain" because she's never really wanted to have sex with anyone before him and it's just. never expanded on. She never learns about asexuality or works through this internalized acephobia it's just the author's half-assed attempt at representation through a character that has no personality otherwise

Got asked by my therapist when I explained I'm aroace if it was because of my terrible evil ex (who was conveniently being talked about in that moment) đ why do so many people chalk up asexuality/aromanticism as "oh you just had a bad experience with someone!"
This is acephobia/aphobia!
Acephobia is my friend mocking me when I tried to come out as ace, since they consider it, like? âThe Incel sexualityâ, I guess?? Yeah, our friendship has a lot of teasing and playful mocking already, but I wish they hadnât done it when I was coming out.

As a asexual person, this pride month sucked ass. Saw people commenting that ace people dont face the same hatred as other sexualities even though we do too. At this point I come to terms that we will never be understood :/
This is acephobia!
Asexuality spectrum? What's that? It's actually upsetting seeing an ace person be acephobic to other acespecs.
Demisexuals are asexual!
Greysexuals are asexual!
Sex favorable asexuals are asexual!
Oh my god I got so confused that the screenshot was what you were trying to say đ but yes! This is acephobia!
Greysexuals and demisexuals and sex favorable asexuals are all asexual and valid!
