An ace-brain post

So through research I’ve concluded that, scientifically, ace is not a sexuality. It’s a modifier for pre existing attraction. Ace people have an inherent sexuality but lack other sex-related functions in their brain, stopping them from experiencing sex-specific attraction. These people still have a sexuality. Ace is not their sexuality. It is a descriptor for something in your brain.

How can you possibly deduce that?!?!? You’re asking. And this is an easy question if you’re already up to speed on how feminization/masculinization of the brain works. If you aren’t, or if you don’t believe, I don’t know what to tell you.

So basically your brain defaults to female unless awash with male hormones. Studies have shown the biological similarities between gay men and straight women’s brains (and vice versa) in areas specific to sex and attraction. The in-between being bisexual. Asexuality is not a feminized nor masculinized trait, it is not an observable brain structure. You may be ace but you are still either gay, straight, or bi.

Well, where do aro aces fit in!?!?!? I hear you cry in utter anguish. Truth is no one fucking knows because there isn’t enough research on the matter but, if I could provide the most plausible of guesses, aroaces are just people who are ace and also have personal aversions to romance and relationships, perhaps low libido, and perhaps other factors that result in what basically feels to that person like they just can’t be attracted whatsoever to anyone.

Therefore inherently being ace cannot even really be classified as being a sexuality. I will provide sources on demand although I suggest reading into it yourself as it is very interesting to learn.
