While I totally agree, as an aro on the flipside of that, I get frustrated when I see people getting those things confused, that they're strictly always equating each other, but… still, when Bea said it was sad that Laz never fell in love, it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Some people don't fall in love, you know? Not even in a platonic way, some people are even loveless altogether, though I see where Bea is coming from, her perspective of things.
It's definitely different for everyone, for sure, but something I think everyone can agree on is equating asexuality and aromantism is harmful to both labels.
I think peoples' definition of love is very warped that love has to be coveted or presented a certain way, but I can also understand that what I feel equates to "love" (in any form) isn't what everyone else thinks, and vice versa.
That being said, Bea's whole drive since the beginning of the story has been seeking love in some sort of way, as well as she herself is surrounded by love from her family, Laz (platonically and unrequited romantically), and even Ginger's little mean ass self. Therefore, that’s why she as a character feels bad for Laz, since love is EXTREMELY important to her and her goals and her upbringing.
I apologize if it came off as hurtful, but to condemn the entire dialogue as blatantly aphobic is missing the point, especially when people find Laz expressing love or affection for Bea as him not being Ace (not saying you did this, but just some stuff I saw in my comments!)
