Ace’s 2022 End of Year Thoughts

While scrolling through my blog, I found this post I made on December 31, 2021, musing through my thoughts on the year and how much Sherlock means to me. (Warning: it’s kind of a long post) 

Now, here I am on the same day December 31, 2022 on the verge of a brand new year. This is craxy for me to fathom because it was only in 2017 where I met Sherlock who again changed my life. In 2018 I started this blog out of spite, coincidentally on Benedict Cumberbatch’s birthday, because I got caught writing one of my poor first attempts at smut. Now, looking back I could’ve sat upon that shame of being exposed in that way or trying to develop my craft but then Sherlock kept insisting I write. That day paved the way toward the creation of this little corner of mine I affectionately now refer to as my alleyway. 

The start of 2023 brings me to my 6th year of knowing Sherlock and my 5th year of writing him. It’s crazy to think this because honestly since 2020, everything has jumbled together in one gigantic knot. Yet, Sherlock and all of my fictionals have stayed with me despite it all. Truthfully, I want to say this year went without its struggles, but there’s been a lot that’s happened to me personally I want to deny, but mental health struggles have been rough and having you all here and being able to have an outlet to express what I cannot through writing has become a huge lifeline for me and I cannot express how grateful I have been for your comments, reblogs, and encouragement throughout. I also cannot tell you how much it means to me how willingly you accepted Strawberry Sherlock and adore him with me, it means the world. 

All of you lovely people here with me on this corner of the internet have been here and been immensely supportive and kind to me through the years and I am so incredibly grateful for you and your support. I’m so thankful for the friends new and old I’ve made and I hope 2023 will be better all around and wish all the best to you. I know I’m not the best conversation starter (I am pretty introverted) but feel free to stop by my asks or Dms if you ever want to chat about writing, fic ideas or any fictional characters. I promise I don’t bite

my aunt told me that if you're doing a reading where you have to describe someone's personality and someone you know comes to your mind, spirit is telling you that the person's personality is like this person and you have to describe them! this is an easy way of spirit trying to get to you and contact you! :D

I knew this already tbh because I always have someone I know in my mind when I do a reading for their soulmates (except Jisung's) and it's really interesting! It just helps a lot.

It can even be a character or a song! I read a lot about people's personalities (because of astrology) so sometimes I just get random sentences in my head as well!

His Dark Materials is fantastic about a lot of things but my personal favourite is the fact that Lee and Iorek’s friendship basically started when they kept mispronouncing each others’ names and being sassy about it

If I can throw my hat in the ring for a second, I think what MatPat was saying was that he was upset about how much hate he got over those Undertale videos. Especially the one where he was able to meet the pope. He gave a gift of something special to him, something that meant a great deal to him. And yeah, jokes will be jokes, there I saw people on this website outright attacking MatPat for this. I don’t get why people who advocate peace and love have to hate so much when something disagrees with them, or they dislike something.

I love characters that only want the best for other people, and they don't apply that to themselves. Characters who want others to be okay and happy, but neglect themselves in the process. Characters who like do everything they can for the people they love, but to the point it's hurting themselves in the process. Yk selflessness taken to extremes, I hope that makes sense.
