“I’m actually trying to study here,” Pat muttered, brushing another folded square off his text book without looking up.

Achilles groaned and stretched his legs out, which Pat only knew because he ended up with Achilles’ foot hitting his shin. “You’re gonna ace your exam, babe, c’mon. It’s been, like, three hours -”

“It’s been thirty minutes, at most,” Pat interrupted.

“Like three hours, so I think it’s time for a break.”

“You said that ten minutes again, when it was also not time for a break yet.”

Achilles sighed and scooted his chair around so that his thigh pressed against Pat’s. “I’m gonna die here,” he announced. “I’m going to wither away and die because my beloved forgot about me and my needs.”

Pat hummed in the back of his throat. “I’ll miss you,” he said.

A few moments passed in silence, and Pat took that moment to quickly scribble down some more notes before the inevitable.

“Pat,” Achilles whined.

Pat glanced to the side with a raised eyebrow. “You didn’t have to come,” he reminded him.

“I hadn’t seen you in, like, two weeks though.”

“We Skyped every single day during break, Achilles. You came to my house for three days.”

“I missed you.”

Pat rolled his eyes. “You’re ridiculous.”

“You love me, though.”

“Mmm, not so much right now, babe.”

Achilles knocked his shoulder playfully.

“Okay,” Pat admitted. “Maybe I like you. A bit. If you’d shut up for five minutes.”
