that's p much what i do which - thankfully for medusa - actually isn't that hard because nasu canon lines up pretty well with the roman version of her myth
minus the fact that nasu says she was born with the curse which no nope
tbh i feel the most for gil and arturia players because nasu gives so much info on them which dont fit so well with their legends

it doesn't help that gen himself admitted that he dislikes saber. so he didn't go out of his way to improve or shine some light on her character. more he did everything in his power to ruin her and make her miserable.

i prefer nasu's just because gen's was an enormous tool who got very little accomplished. she can be moe all she wants but she did accomplish quite a bit in the 5th war
it's more her relationship with shirou that i have issues with rather than her as a character in fsn, which is why i think i like nasu's saber better too.
then again, it just bothers me that shirou magically moefies EVERYONE (except sakura who is already pretty moe) so it's not just her - it's also why i dislike shirou/rin because, again, it feels forced, and that rin has to change too much to make it plausible.
