American College of Emergency Physicians’ Fellow Application Process
Family physician Loren Caira, MD, holds membership with various professional organizations, including the California, American, and Canadian medical associations. In addition, Dr. Loren Caira has been a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) since 1990. To apply for designation as an ACEP Fellow, members must submit an application for election along with an application fee and additional documentation from supervising personnel verifying the member’s eligibility. Some of the requirements for becoming a Fellow of the College are three years of active ACEP membership, extensive practice in emergency medicine, participation in research, and involvement with charitable medical groups. Ultimately, the ACEP board of directors makes the decision to deny or approve Fellow status for qualified physicians. The applicants then receive notification of the decision through the mail. To honor new ACEP Fellows, the organization holds an induction ceremony during the ACEP Scientific Assembly.
