q supposes that he must be , given how unrecognizable the landscape is . the more important question is : why is he new here ? entering a rift has only ever brought him to a sewer - like area , an enclosed space with one entrance and one exit . this is ... an entirely new city , under an open sky with no entrance or exit in sight . it's concerning , to say the least . ( and what about the others ? they'd come with him , but he'd shown up here alone . it doesn't make sense . )

No, this is the first time he's ever woken up from what he'd been led to believe to be eternal sleep. At the time, it was a deeply terrifying experience, watching it all go dark around him as his voice petered out...

It's only by some miracle that his body didn't rust.

"MERCY—!" Thanks to not being rusted and what he remembers last, it's only natural that his first words would be him pleading for his life. His second words, of course, would be what anyone would say when waking up somewhere entirely unfamiliar:

"Wh— Where the hell...?" Is this heaven like Ichinose believes he deserves, or is this hell where every useless idiot thinks he should be? Or some secret third thing?? Fuck if he knows; all that stuff was beneath him. What this man also knew, actually, is that working himself up would only lead to him shutting down. Again. ( Time to keep calm for once in your life, Kazuma. )

Gathering his bearings while trying not to panic, he's slow to get to his feet. Ichinose knows that first things first, he has to figure out where he is. Blonde hair catches his eye and he's practically barreling towards the woman on sight.

"You there!" Having no manners for a stranger, he's pointing a finger right in her face. "Tell me where this is immediately!"

SO OF COURSE, Yusuke decides to be a host for the night and have her sleep in his room as he’d take the guest room, it’d be a less of a hassle for her. He could remember the moment clearly. ‘I’ll grab ya some tea, jus’ meet me in the room’ That was the last thing he told her until he found her on the floor..looking almost angry and disappointed in herself.

HE HAD TO CARRY her into his room because he learned that she couldn’t even stand. And now she wants to tell him he’s making it sound worse than it is? No, he wasn’t going to have that. Who was she to belittle something like this?! “If this isn’t so bad, get out of the bed right now and walk t’ the living room..oh that’s right! As a matter of fact how long were ya goin’ t’ go on with this shit without tellin’me? Prince-..Hikaru..I thought it was the two of us against them.” ‘Them’ being whoever would try to oppose them.

However, Yusuke finally realized his temper wasn’t going to get them anywhere and so he sighs softly before placing his hand gently at the top of her head, an affectionate pat. “Sorry..I lost my cool…t’ tell ya the truth I think what pissed me off the most is the fact I’d probably do the same thing..no, actually I’d make the same play. If somethin’ like this was happenin’ t’ me I’d make like my own father and ignore it. Thinkin’ I grew up from that stupid kid who did things alone t’ find out that I probably haven’t changed a damn since then.”

He turned to face her with a MUCH SOFTER EXPRESSION. “I’m really sorry Princess. You can count on me when it comes t’ takin’ care of you. Believe it or not but eh one of my paranormal jobs did land me at a hospital once where I played the role as a nurse. Learned a few tricks on the job.”
