every time u post about the baltimore crabs i A) think it's a real team i can buy merch from and then i remember it's fictional so i B) think to myself oh i should get into blaseball but then i C) remember that it's horror and that truly is Not For Me and I resign myself to supporting the fictional team with an incredible name and probably one day actually buying merch for them under the mistaken assumption that baltimore finally got an ice hockey team or something. anyway maryland pride

avery i have really good news for you and its that you can in fact buy merch from the baltimore crabs and its all really good. and also the horror in blaseball is imo pretty approachable for people not into horror, since it's all text-based and doesn't have scary visuals or jumpscares or anything (aside from how sometimes a giant rotating peanut will show up on the screen but i'm not sure if that will happen anymore or if it counts as a jumpscare) and most of the horror elements are absurdist and/or abstracted enough that they don't hit as really scary, i think? my tolerance for horror in general is pretty high so i'm not a great judge, but i've seen it compared to welcome to night vale in terms of the kind of horror involved a lot, if that tells you anything. idk! all that to say if you DO decide you ever wanna get into blaseball i will gladly tell you the saga of the baltimore crabs to get you caught up on events. maryland pride! <3

46: green day, american idiot - did anyone growing up in 2000s/2010s america who listened to popular music not hear this song?? i doubt it. classic. no notes

67: green day, welcome to paradise - listen i don't know how you found 2 green day songs spread apart like this, but i just loved the guitar in this one. was this a guitar hero track?? that wouldn't matter because i never had guitar hero, but it feels like it should be a guitar hero level.

the second, shorter playlist is of songs my dad sings* along to in the car. what an old man!! (*he can't sing but he'll tell you he can. also, sometimes he just taps along to the drums or guitar; i'm counting those too.) the playlist is a work in progress because i only made it a couple weeks ago and we go shopping on the weekends :)

123: pearl jam, daughter - pearl jam is such an old man band (affectionate), but the way *googles singer of pearl jam's name* eddie vedder sings the chorus just gets to me, even if i don't care about the lyrical content of this song at all.

154: red hot chili peppers, scar tissue - unironically i love rhcp. this isn't my favorite of theirs but i can jam to this. since i usually end up hearing this in the car i associate it with going to the grocery store
