jinhai lies when he tells haneun he’s going home for the dayㅡhe supposes she should have seen it coming anyways. it’s about four in the afternoon and god knows nobody in kurin ever leaves before four thirty when they’re stuck in a club or study hall. he still plays his part well, though, a grin on his lips and a hand raised to wave goodbye at the fellow student when he exits.
... cue him backing into the school gates when he thinks the coast is clear, backpack slung over one shoulder casually and steady footsteps taking him to the dance practice room. it’s habit he’s gotten used to, whether there’s anybody else in the room or not: he’ll practice if he wants to.
but even metres away from the entrance, he can hear rapid footsteps that don’t match his. jinhai’s eyebrows furrow, curiosity blooming at the thought of someone practicing harder than everㅡsomebody that he doesn’t know the name of, either. he unconsciously takes a few steps closer, intrigued eyes peeking from through the window.
and he almost laughs in glee, because it’s none other than lee haneun practicing with a fury he hadn’t noticed. he considers for a second to take a video and send it to the dance group chat on kakaotalk to show how hard his team was practicing but thought against it: he’d probably get caught anyways.
so he just stands there in the doorway, waiting patiently for her to notice him staring.
“I bet you a lifetime supply of cold noodles that I could pose as a student at Dongnam.”

“ WHAT –– ? ISN’T THAT against so many laws? ” junhwan can’t help but frown at her offer ... but the crestfallen expression doesn’t last long on the dongnam student’s face because he’s suddenly amused by the idea of a bet as the corner of his lips soon quirk up into a grin that’s almost sparking with humor.
( and plus, a lifetime supply of cold noodles does sound nice. )
he thinks for a moment with a quirk of his brow and clucks his tongue expected because he’s never the one who tends to break social norms, people chose their respective schools for a reason and junhwan heavily believed in that ideology but haneun makes it sounds so ... fun. he can’t exactly pass up on that kind of social going with a friend –– but then again, junhwan was pretty sure it was breaking many, many rules.
junhwan sighs. this is going to end badly.
“ fine but –– ” junhwan agrees to the bet and while already shouldering off his dongnam blazer in slight reluctance, there’s a small smile on his face that depicts his entertainment. “ if we get caught, i’m going to cry like ... a lot. you know i don’t do well with being in trouble, haneun-ah! just ... cold noodles are on the line! ”
“ oh my god it’s you. ” jihoon muttered under his breath as she came into sight.
jihoon had been wondering around kurin after school waiting for jieun when he saw her. the girl he’d been admiring for a couple of weeks. lee haneun the dancer who’d taken up all his interests. after seeing her dance once he’d been mesmerized by her swift movements and grace, he would definitely call himself her fan.
he fumbled around with his jacket trying to find his phone, taking out and going straight to his camera, much like most fans when they see the person they’ve been fawning over. but he thought about it for a second. putting his phone down, he walked over to haneun with his hands in his pockets and his confidence only slightly faltering as he approached her.
“ hey! you’re lee haneun, isn’t it? ” he said with exuberance, “ i’m a big fan of yours! ”

English has been an interest of hers and truth be told, Haneun is quite good at it too. The two subjects that she can’t deal with, however, are Science and Maths. She’s not bad at science. It’s just that Haneun doesn’t like the subject itself. Maths, however, was a different story. Perhaps Haneun is allergic to numbers but she just can’t seem to understand anything when it came to maths.

BIOGRAPHY!
Born on the 15th May, 1999, Haneun is the third and last child. Her mother is a school teacher, teaching Korean at a local high school while her father is a police. Being the only girl and the youngest, Haneun got almost everything she wanted growing up. Daehan (the eldest) and Daeeun (second son) were six and five years older than she was, respectively. Naturally, her brothers doted on her too and were really protective of her.
Like most little girls were, Haneun was taken to ballet classes at a young age of four while her brothers were taking Taekwondo in the next studio. She initially wanted to do ballet because she ‘looked pretty’ in a tutu but stuck with it because she fell in love with the dance itself. Haneun was never a shy child, always glad to do a little performance for her family whenever they asked. Since then, she had been taking part in dance competitions, occasionally winning a few trophies. Apart from ballet, Haneun also took up modern dance when she was eight and dabbled a little in hiphop when she was ten before deciding that the latter was not for her.
In kindergarten and elementary school, Haneun was always described by her teachers as the brightest child. She always participated in class and was always the first to have her hand up whenever the teachers asked if they would like to take part in the school’s musical and other kinds of events. And because of her personality, she made a lot of friends. She received countless presents on her birthday and was known to have the best birthday parties.
As she grew, however, the bluntness was starting to be a part of her otherwise perfectly charming personality. In kindergarten and elementary, Haneun never understood if something was the newest or prettiest. Though in middle school, she started noticing that not everyone would have the same hair accessories or the newest toy that took the whole school by a storm. She would then point those without the newest models out. Or if someone did not look their best that day, Haneun would be the first to say something. Slowly, she started losing friends in school because they did appreciate her honesty. Coupled with her temper, Haneun spent a lot of her middle school time sitting alone for lunch, being picked last for groups, etc. But it was a talent show that saved Haneun from loneliness. It was an interschool talent show and each class was required to send out two participants. Haneun was nominated by her teacher and eventually won the talent show with a ballet routine. Other students were starting to overlook the flaws in her personality and she made a few friends.
It did not take much convincing for her parents to let Haneun attend Kurin Performing Arts Academy. Her reason for wanting to attend was simple, because her friends were applying for Kurin too. But soon, she discovered that she could study what she loved and was passionate about and that only strengthened her resolve to attend Kurin. With Daehan doing well with his business management degree and Daeeun working to be a police like their father, Haneun was allowed to do as she pleased with only one condition; she had to keep up with her grades.
“i hear that administration is planning a new event after all the drama during the night at the boardwalk dance.”

°☆.。.:* — JUNHWAN’S fingers come to a complete stop on his keyboard as wide eyes peer up at the other immediately after those words come out of her mouth. he tries not to show his internal freakout right there and then in the middle of the library but his mind decides not to let him ... all he could think was does she know about the kiss? did she see us leave during the dance? is this about me and –– ?
“that’s kind of ironic,” junhwan scoffs with a light chuckle, nervous and obvious, as eyes peer back down onto the illuminated screen of his laptop in front of him. “the administration shouldn’t encourage a new event if they don’t want anymore drama, don’t you think?”
his eyes continue to stare at the screen in thought, chewing his bottom lip in worry before junhwan’s gaze returns to haneun in question.
“ –– but it was kind of funny to see jiwoon-ssi and kihyun-ah fight over a stick of cheese, wasn’t it?”
