I feel, since I'm an atheist, I've got no say on the matter. If someone who feels passionate about the topic insists that it's not mythology, I'll let them have it. It doesn't affect me in any way, and it clearly makes them emotional, so I don't mind adjusting my vocab for them.
Yeah, that's a really good way to approach it, and I'm definitely of a like mind to you because of the whole lack-of-belief thing. And I totally would do the same, if someone approached me and they were upset or offended because of the terminology I used. I just thought I'd explain how I view the word in relation to religion, in the hope that less people would be offended
