Inali's* guilt did not truly surface until her bending emerged.

A little over a year after the war....

Fifteen year old Inali was out with her father on his fishing boat. When Inali's father began pulling in the net he would accidently fall over into the water and get trapped inside the net.

Trapped and drowning in the water Inali's father desperately tried to get free. Inali fought back tears as she struggled to pull him back up. In a moment of desperation Inali soon felt a pull in the water and before she could realize what had happened her father was floating above her head in a giant ball of water. When her father fell on the deck of the boat gasping for air reality set in. She was a waterbender.

Tears filled her eyes as she quickly became flooded with emotions. Not only because her father nearly died but over the realization that had her family been home during the Southern Raiders attack, she too would have been killed.

A guilt stricken Inali hug her father tightly and vowed to use her new gifts to help her people and the world.

if i could go back in time id probably tell my younger self to keep all of my writing, no matter how shitty i think it is.

there's been so many times that ive wanted to look back at my writing -- especially from my early years (5-8yrs old?) bc i have memories of writing fanfiction before i even knew that that's what it was called.

this one's kinda hard to answer for me, bc i feel like as much as i want to say a distraction-free, uncluttered, quiet space is conducive to writing, i think my ability to write relies far more on the depth and intensity of my hyperfixation on a given blorbo.

like,, ive banged out entire fics on my 20 minute morning commute to work when im hyperfixated enough, so honestly i think my perfect writing environment is the one in which my brain is rotating a blorbo around in it.

Oh this is so nice to think about, thanks for the ask!

1. Solving puzzles (jigsaw, crossword, you name it)

2. Making others laugh

3. When the sky is blue and the flowers are blooming and it’s still cool but you can feel the warmth of the sun

4. Short but wholesome interactions with strangers (thinking about you, old lady who noticed I was lost and yelled directions from her apartment window across the street)

5. Waking up well rested

Hi! =D I saw in a previous ask you said the Tangled TV series kinda soured your taste for the movie a little. How so? (i'm just curious) (Also i agree Barbie Rapunzel over Tangled for me too. For the iconic dress scene and dragons.)

The TV show...had a lot of things I didn't like about it, but honestly it's too much to get into.

My biggest gripes are how they handled Cassandra and her relationship to Rapunzel, the plot, and especially the Captain who fucking raised her. Captain Dad is one of my biggest criticisms actually, because they gave him all of this setup with being Cassandra's adoptive parent and everything just to shove him aside in the last episodes. I also don't like that they had to rewrite the canon of the movie just to make the show work at all. In the movie, the entire flower is clearly used to make the potion to heal the Queen but the show said "Uh actually they only used a little bit here's the rest!" But then they say the flower was no longer magical anyway, so...what exactly was the point of keeping it? Just to have that dramatic moment where Varian crushes it? Did anyone even try to see if there was power left in it so they could help other people? Maybe I don't remember but I swear they didn't explain it, at least not very well.

There's also the racism but I'm not really equip to talk about that; I'd just go through the Tangled the Series and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure tags if you want to know more.

Anyways, I know it shouldn't bother me so much and wreck my mood with the original movie and I have other criticisms of just the movie itself but I just can't seem to ignore the show anymore when I try to watch Tangled. These days I prefer to watch the cruise show instead since I love stage productions and there are lots of neat stage things to keep me distracted, like the costumes and set pieces.
