about LOGH... why do you think so many reactionaries, (alt) rightists and other similar people like the anime? It sounds so contradictory to me...
because its very easy (and not entirely incorrect imo) to read it as a treatise on the necessity of absolute monarchy.
like, i enjoy logh a lot but it does pretty solidly come down on the side of “reinhard was right”, and while his style of autocracy is a little more “benevolent strongman” than “hereditary monarchy”, and his actual policies are distinctly leftist (for example, he implements land reform), it ultimately still comes down to a *lot* of material about how good this (extremely austrian-aesthetic [edit: whoops i was wrong here its prussian actually]) empire is now that reinhard’s in charge
i think that theres a lot that we as leftists can find in the show and i think that there is a very strong leftist reading of logh (for example, i doubt that the reactionaries who like it really like talking about how gay reinhard is), but we also shouldn’t shy away from the problems that it has w/r/t its politics
