arms crossed against her chest as she leaned against the entryway of the kitchen, ally didn’t dare make a sound— no, she wanted to observe the strange man’s behavior as he sat there alone at the kitchen table. she’d been a witness to this scenario too many times to count, first with her father over the years, then subsequently with her late husband. ally knew the initial recovery process was always the hardest, or as she liked to call it, the hangover from hell. it was wise not to push too hard or ask to ask too many questions, but at the same time, there was a part of ally that needed to get to the bottom of why this man had nearly almost killed himself to get her attention after one of her shows.
as charlie whined at the bottom of her feet for attention, the redheaded woman couldn’t help but break her silence with a bout of laughter, her eyes still staring straight ahead at axel even when she pushed her body forward towards the counter. “eatin’ something might help. i can make you eggs– how about that? do ya’ like eggs?”
