This year I want to draw more stuff directly linked to Murph's storyline, and this is from the point in the story where they flee the Emperor's Coven after their father's wrongful execution, and have to go into hiding to stop Belos from finding them

Behold, my Steve lore 💛 90% of this is my own headcanon for my AU project, A Coven Just For Two! I haven't removed anything stated in canon (which was...not a lot, to be fair) but I've done a lot of work to fill in the blanks and give him a backstory! This is barely a fraction of it so feel free to ask about the rest

How does katya fit into ur main storyline?

She doesn't have a huge role, but she does feature a bit more than the other BATTs. As we know from the show she's been imprisoned multiple times for her eclectic tastes in fiction and general rebeliousness, and on one of those occasions, Murph (as The Rustwarden) was also being held at the Conformatorium. Murph broke out and destroyed a large section of the prison in the process, allowing other prisoners to escape, and Katya was one of them. When she returns to her friends she talks about a brave and dashing stranger in a mask that saved her, but she has no idea who it was. Their paths cross again a few years later once the rebel group is in full swing, and Katya is the one who convinces Murph to join their group. She nurses a little crush on them for a while but it doesn't last long once Steve shows up and Katya puts the pieces together - they do remain very close friends though, and Murph confides in her a lot. She is also cousins with Roscoe, one of my other OCs, which was my way of explaining how he ends up joining the BATTs as well

Thinking about Steve being stuck in Collector puppet hell for a couple of months (they're definitely at least semi conscious in that state. For angst reasons) and the last thing he said before getting transformed was it's okay that Murph doesn't love him back. That's the last emotion he felt before getting trapped and he has to sit with it for months

And so does Murph because they never got the chance to correct him before he got snatched and now they don't know if they'll ever get the chance

Been writing some bits about Murph's childhood trauma re: parental death today and how much their anger issues and attachment anxiety makes them feel like a horrible person and they don't deserve friends because they always end up hurting them and aughhhh. They mess up with Steve and are convinced they've lost him forever but he shows up to their door like hey. I know you punched me and that was mean. But you're hurting way more than I am right now, what can I do to help, and nobody has ever done that before!! Nobody ever sticks around but now there's Steve. So of course Murph would die for this boy now
