ACMEGRAM October 6 - October 31, 2025 Reception: Saturday October 11 2-4 pm. Transmutation of the subject is central to Goldberg’s practice. She uses photography to mimic the ideal IG image, then uses the photographs as a basis for her hyper-realist paintings. A subtle critique of the curation of images that we all engage in when we are sharing’ on social media. The circle is closed when the paintings in turn are photographed (by her and others) and appear on social media. @anngoldbergstudio

Ray-Bans in Venice CA. 36 x 36 Oil on Canvas. Coming to my solo show ACMEGRAM at @gallerypendulum this October. Behind the scenes, I used a photo that Murray took on his cell phone for the image. If you look closely in the reflection in the glasses, you can see me looking at my Instagram post of my Peony painting @signetcontemporaryart.chelsea in London UK. As @julia_troj Art Hist Phd Cand. brilliantly noted in her commentary, ACMEGRAM is “a neologism binding the Greek work acme (‘zenith’) to the second syllable in the word ‘Instagram,’ [implying] a telos, an endpoint, a future moment at which such a zenith can be attained.”
