So, this is my first fanfiction and that's about the event "Playful land" from the game Twisted wonderland
It's all thanks to @seafantasy (ty very much🤭😌)
And I decided to include my ships but if you want you can see them as platonic or only friends, so here is some warnings for the readers:
1) ships: Trey x cater ; Jamil x Kalim ; Jade x Azul ; Floyd x Riddle ; Leona x Ruggie ; and I decided to include this very rare pair... Silver x Ortho :3. Yeah i know, some people say that Ortho is tecnically a 8 year old boy by his design and purpose of being created but I want to make him like a normal student that has 16 years old like theo ther first years 🥹🫰(and i didn't see any ship of him so...) ; and Lilia is with me uwu (just kidding...unfortunately 😔🫰)
2) in my AU Malleus, Silver and Sabek are brothers (not by blood) and they all are Lilia's children (what a cute family🥹❤️)
I don't think i need to add anything else soooo....ENJOY!! (Tagging another person who really wanted to read it 🤭 @mary-lennox-1955)
The story begins with them already in Playful Land and about to discover the truth of where they were, but something doesn't add up... is there something that is about to happen suddenly and no one could do anything...?
Chapter 1: The Deception of Playful Land and the Weight of Silence
The fog at Playful Land was nothing like the usual mist of the Isle of Sages. It was dense, scented with stale cotton candy and ancient wood, swirling around the visitors' ankles like magical smoke. The lights of the amusement rides cast distorted reflections onto the puddles.
At the center of the park, "Cater Diamond" adjusted the collar of his scarlet parade jacket, which was dense with golden embroidery and shiny buttons that matched the festival's theme. He smiled, his smartphone already raised to capture the perfect light from the lanterns, but his green eyes betrayed a subtle tension. Beside him, "Trey Clover"tightened his official white gloves, his uniform identical to Cater's but worn with a rigidity that reflected his anxiety.
> "Cater, slow down," Trey whispered, his voice low, nearly drowned out by the sinister sound of the carousel's barrel organ. His hand rested on the other’s shoulder for a second—a brief movement, yet loaded with a silent warmth—before withdrawing. "Something isn't right with this background music."
> Cater turned around, his influencer smile vanishing for a millisecond to reveal the real Cater: tired, alert. "I know, Trey-kun. But if we don't keep walking, we risk drawing attention. Look over there."
A few meters away, beneath the sign of a wooden sideshow, **Fellow Honest** smiled slyly, adjusting his top hat with a theatrical gesture of his gloved fingers. Beside him, the little cat **Gideon** held his large toy mallet, his green eyes fixed on the newcomers with poorly concealed greed. There was something deeply distorted about their movements—too fluid, too calculated.
Leaning against a wooden doorpost nearby, "Leona Kingscholar" scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. He was wearing the flashy event jacket, which annoyed him because it made it quite difficult to move around. His lion ears twitched nervously toward the noises of the park. He hated this place, he hated the smell of everything fake, and, above all, he hated being away from the dorm at that moment. His mind remained back at Savanaclaw, where he knew Ruggie had to look after everything all by himself.
Beside him, "Jack Howl" walked with his head held high, also wrapped in the festive colors of the park. "This place reeks of something rotten," Jack growled in a low voice, clenching his fists. "Those two, Ernesto and Gino, I don't like them one bit. They're up to something, I can feel it."
"Shut your mouth, Jack," Leona growled back, his voice deep and irritated. "The sooner we expose this farce, the sooner I get back to the dorm. I have more important things to deal with than watching puppets."
At Playful Land, the rides continued to spin with dark creaks. "Ace Trappola" adjusted his hat and the cape that fluttered behind him, draped over his left shoulder. He walked with long strides, trying to hide his annoyance at the oppressive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, in the main courtyard of Night Raven College...
"Deuce Spade" paced back and forth beneath the unlit streetlamps. He wore his uniform jacket unbuttoned, his hair slightly disheveled by the evening wind. He felt a knot in his stomach. He had tried to call Ace, but the phone showed zero signal. His hand tightened around the Heartslabyul dorm emblem on his jacket. "Don't go doing anything stupid, Ace," he muttered into the darkness, his heart racing a mile a minute.
The narrative shifts back to the heart of the park, where the fog grew thicker around the main tent. "Kalim Al-Asim", in his festive attire rich with golden details that shimmered in the candlelight, stared at the attractions with wide eyes, but his usual cheerfulness was subdued. He felt a strange exhaustion.
In the quiet of Scarabia...
"Jamil Viper" sat in the dorm Lounge, the light fabrics of his uniform brushing against the golden cushions. He wasn't studying. His dark eyes were fixed on the empty space ahead, his mind constantly strained toward the magical bond and the sense of responsibility that tied him to Kalim. He felt an annoying emptiness in his chest, a sensation of imminent danger that forced him to grip his magical pen until his knuckles turned white.
Back at the park, "Lilia Vanrouge" walked through the grounds, the Playful Land uniform hanging on him with an ancient and mysterious elegance. He was the only one maintaining an enigmatic smile, his crimson eyes gleaming in the darkness as he watched the shadows of the puppets stretch across the walls of the booths. Even though Lilia doesn't have a partner, his children (Malleus, Silver, and Sebek) are clearly worried about their father, who vanished without saying a word... but in the meantime, he focuses entirely on the magical and ephemeral nature of the park. He knew Ernesto was hiding something.
Beside him, "Ortho Shroud" floated in mid-air, his festive gear modified for the event—emitting small metallic clicks. "My sensors are detecting structural anomalies in the rides, Lilia Vanrouge-san," the little robot said, with his voice metallic but clearly worried about his brother and the companions left behind at school.
In the Diasomnia dormitory...
"Silver" suddenly jolted awake from one of his usual sleeping spells, sitting up in the armchair of the common room. The room was far too quiet without Lilia, who was always with him, and without his boyfriend, Ortho. "We must remain vigilant," he murmured to himself, his gaze fixed beyond the wind-swept window.
Meanwhile, in the Savanaclaw dormitory...
With both Leona and Jack away investigating at Playful Land, the savanna dorm had plunged into absolute silence. In Leona's room, illuminated only by a faint bedside lamp, little "Leo", Leona and Ruggie's few-months-old son, let out a soft cry from his dark wooden crib.
"Ruggie Bucchi", wearing a comfortable oversized hoodie and with his hair messed up, approached quickly, his hyena movements light and feline. He was visibly exhausted; the dark circles under his eyes were marked by the weight of the last few hours spent alone managing the baby, the dorm, and the constant, crushing worry for Leona and Jack trapped in that mysterious park.
> "Shh, be a good boy, Leo... Daddy will be back soon, I promise," Ruggie whispered, gently picking him up in his arms and cradling him. The infant's features, a spitting image of Leona, relaxed slightly, but Ruggie felt the massive weight of Leona's absence. He pressed the little one to his chest, looking out the window toward the dark sky. "I swear, Leona, if you're not back by tomorrow, I'm going to kill you..."
In the dim light of the Octavinelle Lounge...
"Azul Ashengrotto" meticulously organized documents behind the counter, his white gloves sliding precisely over the papers. His expression was tense.
At Playful Land, "Jade Leech" and "Floyd Leech" were walking among the stalls, wearing their extravagant festival jackets. Floyd toyed lazily with the golden buttons, bored, but with a gaze that snapped left and right.
At NRC, Azul felt the absence of Jade's millimetric precision. Beside him, sitting at a table in the Lounge, "Riddle Rosehearts" gripped a cup of now-cold tea. He wore his impeccable Housewarden uniform, his posture rigid as always, but his eyes kept staring at the clock. He was thinking of Floyd, and how much he missed the eel's unpredictable behavior in this moment of absolute, terrifying silence.
"Floyd will undoubtedly end up getting into trouble," Riddle muttered, clenching his teeth to hide the trembling of his hands. Azul nodded slowly, his expression grave: "Jade will know how to keep him in check, Riddle. But the magic of that park is blocking every commercial and communication channel. We must be ready for anything."
Back at the park was "Vil Schoenheit" wearing the same clothes as all the others, very elegant, in a deceptive purple and gold decorations, and he was walking with high guard and a cold gaze, the rides of the park that became increasingly darker the further he moved away from the heart of it. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted him...and yet here I am...this place is definitely wrong...something we didn't notice before we came in here..."
Meanwhile in Pomofiore...
Rook was sitting in the dorm lounge with a very elegant position and was wearing his uniform perfectly, it seemed that everything was fine but in reality his face betrayed him...his face had an expression of concern for his beloved Roi du Poison...he doesn't know where he is and he can't even use his signature spell to track him down because he hadn't marked him...after all, who would blame him, he didn't expect something like this to happen, yet his instincts said that Vil...is prey that has fallen into a trap..."Ah, mon beautiful Roi du Poison..I will find you, no matter what the cost"
At Playful Land, Ernesto and Gino took a step back, slowly vanishing into the artificial fog as the lights of the rides began to pulse to the rhythm of an artificial heartbeat.
Jack Howl stepped up beside Leona, growling with bared fangs. Leona narrowed his green eyes, his magical aura beginning to awaken around him, driven by a fierce desire to destroy that illusion and finally return to Ruggie and little Leo.
Cater snapped a photo, but on the smartphone screen, the image appeared completely distorted, full of static lines and wooden faces. Trey stepped forward, placing his gloved hand directly over Cater's hand that was gripping the phone, slowly lowering it. Their gazes met in the shadows, a moment of absolute, silent mutual understanding.
"It's time to stop pretending," Trey said, his voice echoing deep within the silence that was consuming the park. The golden illusion of Playful Land was about to collapse, and chaos was about to reign over that place...
