“Huh?” 

Spinel glanced up from her instrument to give Marceline a surprised glance. She- honestly hadn’t expected anybody to find her out here, on the cliffside. It’s typically where she went to practice, actually. It was the spot Steven had shown her when she’d first started out. 

It wasn’t that she WANTED to be alone, though! Not at all, really. The company wasn’t unappreciated, and she was sure to try and show that with a little smile. 

“Oh, uh- I’m not.. I’m kinda not too sure..? Gems sorta.. write songs all the time..?” 

She offered an anxious sort of shrug, fingers absently plucking at the strings. 

“... Did you know that Gem language is just- singing-?”
