How many times have you been “pet” by white people? If you are white, how many times have you seen this, or done it thinking nothing of it or perhaps thinking it a compliment?

This is a really subtle way to show ownership that, to Rosie, probably feels affectionate and comfortable. She seems to see him as an unruly pet vs a human being (which that’s a whole other thread), “gently correcting” his behavior whenever he “misbehaves”. She feels entitled through her ownership to touch him and pull him around until he eventually falls back into step with her. It’s this benevolent mask of gentility and superiority, & she very well may THINK she’s a “good owner”.

I absolutely LOVE Rosie- this is simply a look at themes in the show btw! I would sell my soul to her any day! 😂 Patriarchy and white supremacy make society sick 💜
