How does our brain guide our reactions?
In November we learned about how to engage, inspire and change the behaviour of frontline staff by harnessing the power of extraordinary individuals. In this webinar, delivered on January 15 by Ann Brown, Acting Director, Change Initiatives at Providence Health Care, we built on that and learned how to use neuroscience to reduce resistance and increase engagement in change!
If something tastes good, we’ll eat it; if something tastes poisonous, we won’t eat it. Simple enough – but did you know this nonconscious decision-making can also affect how well someone problem solves, manages stress and collaborates with others?
Knowing how our brain reacts to what it perceives as rewards and threats is an increasingly important leadership, engagement and motivation tool. Identifying these rewards and threats is the first step, so this two-part webinar will explore how to remember and act upon social triggers that generate them – situations like recognizing someone’s perceived status, creating certainty where little exists as well as promoting autonomy, inclusion and fairness.
This is part 1 of a two-part Quality Café. Watch part 2 here: https://vimeo.com/88813301
