Just finished Maurice. I think I've found my favorite movie. Saw the edits and didn't even know Alec existed. I "knew" it had a sad ending so I was readying myself for it while watching. I even regretted watching it half way through because I was getting attached to characters I "knew" would never be happy. I was so shocked when Alec came into Maurice's room. As soon as he was introduced, I was rooting for him to get closee to Maurice. I knew he was something important to be mentioned so many times. But I wasn't sure then. When they finally got together I felt so happy! Maurice definitely deserves better. Ever since Alec came in, I knew that's what Maurice deserves. He deff treats Maurice better too. In glad i didn't have my heart broken by this movie. But of course, I understand Clive. I loved Maurice's relatationship with him but a thought that crosses my mid at the first part of the movie is that Maurice is always the one initiating stuff, apart from the first cofession, of course, which made it weird. Definitely a case of internalized homophobia. I just know he still loves Maurice deep inside him — He just can't accept it. He's scared, which I understand and love about his character, but Alec came in as someone braver. Which was what Maurice needed. Should I buy the book??
Anyway. 10/10. Would reccomended. My top one movie now.

how horrible is it that to be pure of heart within this world is becoming increasingly rare.
the reason good people suffer so much on this planet is because justice no longer exists due to the amount of hate that has spread so rapidly and become so normalized. it is now safer to be a horrible person without empathy then it is to have the ability to love and feel. that is so sickening to me. but if you look at the world through this lense, it suddenly starts to make sense why bullying exists. why hate speech exists. why people are ending their lives and why so many people hate themselves. why abusers and rapists and murderers get no justice and why so many children all across the world suffer tremendously. regardless of how the adults on this planet are acting, even young people are starting to become more and more hateful. and there is nothing anybody can do about it.
i've tried. ive thought and ive considered and theres just nothing that can be done. a persons beliefs are a persons beliefs. just like yours are your own, it takes a truly introspective and reflective individual to change their behavior.
i grew up naive thinking that everybody was equally as feeling and intelligent and that hate should not exist because anybody with common sense wouldnt do that stuff. but then i grew up and realized that intelligence is a genuine shortage in this world and that maturity is truly rare. because turns out, a lot of people just don't think. its becoming increasingly easier and easier to say stuff and believe it doesnt effect others. or to hurt other people and believe it is the right thing. or to disregard anybody elses existence because selfishness is easier. and as much as i hate this fact so much it makes me want to die, i am starting to realize that there is nothing we can do about any of it.
standing up to hate and violence has never worked because if it did, it wouldn't still exist today. it is so scary to realize we are living in a world of 8 billion other individuals who are just as conscious as yourself, but it is scarier to realize that not everybody thinks. because if you take 5 minutes to consider "hey... why do I hate *insert group of people* so much? is it really worth it?" then chances are, the answer is probably "this is all stupid anyways." but think about how many people actually do that. how many politicians DON'T do that. i dont understand how we can wake up in the morning with the believe that any group of people is weird or wrong or evil or anything like that because at the end of the day, we are all people. it doesnt matter what your skin color is or what religion you are or who you love or what country you come from. why are all of those things that turn people against each other so horribly? how many insecure individuals must exist that racism and homophobia is still a thing to this day and is only getting more and more relevant? or even worse, how many people truly believe that they are better then everyone else to the extent that they are okay with abusing children, or their partners, or their friends, or their family, or animals?
how horrible is it, to live in a world where it is safe to be wrong and hell to be right? where anyone with empathy and a brain lives a cruel existence built on survival while the hateful people thrive with no real consequences?
the law doesn't even do it's job anymore. the law is just slowly becoming the problem, because what do you mean ICE is killing people and taking them out of their homes and putting them in a position of danger and nobody can do anything about it? what do you mean woman's rights are being taken away because one man believes abortion is murder? how is it fair that gay marriage is at risk of being abolished because generations of people following christianity were gaslighted by someone or something into believing that love is a sin?
we can't do anything about anything because hate has won. the number of hateful people has exceeded the number of loving people in this world and we cannot do anything about it. the price we pay for being alive is the cost of ever living a free, safe, or happy life because the world has collectively decided that being horrible is easier then being kind.
my reason to stay alive should not be to help as many people survive this world and find a reason to live as possible. life should just be something worth living for the sake of being alive.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's $27 million Montecito mansion is just a temporary winter retreat before they return to their England h
Let's be clear here, in case you haven't been watching International News...
Ellen found out the hard way that the UK isn't the USA. Specifically, she's being pressured to leave the UK by the township, who raised their complaints about her to the Government by proxy of their Lordship, who followed up directly with her and her mate. Let's examine the reason: Her estate that she purchased in the UK was illegally remodeled which put a significant drain on the township's water supply and caused flooding.
She literally sucked the town dry.
The township folks were experiencing significant water pressure issues because her property is downhill from the township. The township doesn't have a water tower to maintain pressure. It's well-fed and relies on a resource further uphill. Ladies and gentlemen: I bid you gravity.
Since the township was downhill from the water source, there was no need for a water tower to maintain pressure. Since her "cottage" was further downhill, it was fine. When she renovated, she failed to get the proper assessments because she didn't indicate how much water was expected to be used both in the construction and operation of her estate. Her swimming pool alone tapped out the town whenever she filled it.
However, not more than a few weeks after they moved in following the renovations, the very thing the local commissioner warned against had happened: Her modifications caused increased risk of flooding, and it did flood. Now, aside from the fact that she proclaimed the work was done to the highest of standards, it was after the fact and the commissioner had warned prior to the work and thereafter that the problem was ever present.
So she's selling it, or trying to. No one wants it. She tacked on a 50% markup because she had bought it. It's since been slashed repeatedly and was taken off the market in January because she can't sell it.
Gee, I wonder why, "Ms. I swear I will never return to the US"?
New legal developments and ongoing personal challenges appear to be accelerating Ellen DeGeneres’ potential return to the United States afte
Now, let's look at her other legal issue: She injured a woman in a head-on car crash. While driving her Tesla, somehow, Ellen forgot she was in the UK and went face-to-face into the other woman's vehicle. The ensuing lawsuit sent Ellen back to the United States to hide from being served papers. That's why she's been back in the US for a few months.
This is not how the UK legal system works, mind you. Just because you can avoid being served the summons by the Royal High Court, doesn't mean you can evade their decision -- unlike the United States. In the US, if you're not served papers properly, the case can be thrown out. In the UK, if you're not served the papers because you are in hiding, you lose the case. A warrant is issued for your arrest. You go to jail in contempt. You're slapped potentially with other charges and fined.
It doesn't matter if it's for a parking ticket or jay walking, if it's a mediation trial, a lawsuit, or criminal trial and you fail to appear: They will fuck you. Hard. They expect you to be fully responsible for your affairs and to address those who feel slighted by you enough to call you into court to face them, that out of common decency, you make every appearance promptly in effort to demonstrate your willingness to make amends or vacate the claim.
So Ellen, thinking she's going to make the "Oh, I didn't know I had to be there then, and I couldn't because I was over here doing this thing that is important to me, and you didn't give me the papers directly to tell me I had to be there" defense has found out the hard way: The UK does not play. They have no chill when you say you'll do a thing and then you don't show up. Everyone else did.
Making matters worse, she didn't remember that the UK has a treaty with the US. They flew all the way to California (not really, it was the consulate who received the papers by tele) to find her. They only need to find the closest avenue to present: Her attorney's offices. Doesn't matter if they're an attorney she once used or one of many for different purposes, that's sufficient because they know how to find her and can give it to her. They're Esquires under her leige, and by British Law, that's sufficient.
