First of all, read the script
You should read the script completely when it comes to audition for a project. You may want to give your opinion on the script, character development, and the narrative. Prepare specific points to mention regarding the script in the audition. All such points must be positive or they will prefer someone else who is ready.
Research
Find out what happens to your character, your relationship with other characters, your intention for those characters, and if any changes happen to your character at the end. It will help you make informed decisions about playing the scene and enjoy dynamic performance.
Know the lines
Of course it sounds familiar but actors mostly feel that they understand the lines and the pressure of audition overwhelms their mind. Lines are the first thing you should go for. You should learn the lines fully. Test the lines yourself while doing regular tasks like making your bed or washing dishes. Be confident about the lines so you will be less worried in the audition.
Get into the character
Let’s face it. If you have got the audition, it means your casting director feels that you’ve the exact same look for the role and character he likes. Give a hint to that character in terms of hair style, makeup and dress, when needed. Simply be yourself with your accent. Let them know that you are no farther than a person they are going to cast.
