I haven’t really done action analysis stuff like this since I was in school, but I’ve been wanting to shake up my morning warmup routine. I referenced youtube videos, stopping and starting them every few frames and then doing a quick drawing. These took me about half-an-hour, I think. Not too terrible of a daily time expenditure for everything I learned.

--   I was definitely not good at sketching from real life before college. I took a class on drawing from moving images and videos. Action Analysis, it was called. 

We did sketches based off slow motion videos of animals and people, then videos at normal speed, then we drew from models and eventually drew from live animals. 

It was a really beneficial experience that I’m glad I had. I can catch poses and moments much faster and remember them when I want to draw it later.
