GODBREAKERS: A Thunderous Brawler Experience
GODBREAKERS is a fast, chaotic co-op action brawler game that’s tearing its way onto Steam Deck and Linux via Windows PC. Thanks to the creative firepower of To The Sky. Which you will be able to play on Steam soon. Alright, squad, it’s time to talk about a game that’s been flying under the radar but is about to drop like a thunderclap. GODBREAKERS, the ferociously fast, co-op action brawler from To The Sky and Thunderful, is officially hitting Steam Deck and Linux on October 23rd. And just in time, we’ve got a fresh story trailer that finally peels back the curtain on what is going on in this world of gods, chaos, and destruction. The trailer throws some heavy questions at us: How did humanity’s obsession with AI lead to its own downfall? What exactly is this mysterious “Monad”? And why have we been chosen to destroy it? The vibe is intense, dripping with that “we messed up big time, now it’s on us to clean it up” kind of energy. But lore aside, let’s talk gameplay, since this is where GODBREAKERS truly shines. This is a title built for adrenaline junkies and chaos fans, whether you’re rolling solo or linking up with three of your best friends. It’s all about slick, fluid combat where everything can be cancelled mid-action. That means you’ve got control down to the millisecond. So no clunky animations holding you back when you want to chain a dash into a slam into a special. Combat feels like painting with explosions, and your brush is a massive weapon.
GODBREAKERS | OFFICIAL STORY TRAILER
And here’s the juicy part: Godbreaks. Mid-fight, you can weaken enemies, rip their powers right out of them, and turn their own strength back against them. Nothing feels better than pulling off a perfectly timed Godbreak and watching your opponent eat the blast of their own ability. The bosses? Oh, they’re not just roadblocks, they’re multi-phase monsters with evolving move sets and nasty surprises waiting at every turn. Each one has a personality, and each one wants to wipe the floor with you. Think bullet-hell chaos mixed with high-stakes teamwork. If you want a taste before the GODBREAKERS launch, there’s already a demo on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest (via Proton). And the reviews are sitting at “Very Positive.” In the demo, you’ll get to explore two of the six surreal biomes the full release will offer. Each biome has its own twisted enemies, hazards, and of course, a boss fight. One that is due to test your reflexes (and your patience) in the best way possible. And let’s not forget the build system: loot, archetypes, and abilities all combine to let you craft your own combat style. Want to be a dash-happy berserker? Do it. Prefer playing like a tactical nuker? The game’s got your back. So, for Linux and Steam Deck players, mark the date: October 23rd. Fire up your PC, squad up, due to get ready to break some gods. Humanity’s mess is our battlefield now, and in GODBREAKERS, co-op action brawler chaos is the only way forward on Steam.
