There is tremendous power in that pivotal moment when you become grateful for your suffering - for all it taught you. . At a point in my life, the suffering that permeates humanity and our planet overwhelmed me. I thought about the pain we feel when we are severed from our loved ones, and the dark injustices that happen to those without a voice. . I couldn’t accept this and fantasized about my body disintegrating, my very existence decomposing back into the elements life is made of, becoming once again a part of the earth, sky, and sea. . I’ve always known my path is with wildlife, but it wasn’t until this moment of deep despair that I fully realized how crucial taking action was. I did not wish to continue living unless I worked to make things better. . That was the turning point in my life. .
