He was up for TWO Best Kiss awards.
Lily Evans’ famous boyfriend was up for TWO BEST KISS AWARDS at THE OSCARS for two different kissing scenes with two different women.
Thankfully, her boyfriend James took Lily to the Oscars this year, where she was rocking an elegant dark green evening gown. With James wearing an all maroon suit, because “Lily it will be complimentary colors!”
Currently, they were standing on the red carpet, changing poses slightly every few flashes.
James then leaned down to whisper in her ear, “If we’re quick enough, we can get some of the free cupcakes before the cast of Avenger does.”
“If they’re assembled we won’t stand a chance.” Lily whispered back.
James chortled as he paused to smile at a young reporter.
It took several more minutes, but they were finally near the end of the red carpet where Remus and Sirius were standing to wait for them. Sirius apparently had been able to snag a vanilla cupcake and was licking the icing off.
Remus was popping a Hershey’s kiss into his mouth as Lily made eye contact with him.
“Spectacular.” Sirius answered bemusedly. “I’ve already seen Bellatrix and Lucius. And Lucius dyed his hair, looks positively medieval.”
“You say that as if we aren’t dressed the way we are.” Remus said with a gesture towards their night in shining armor theme.
“At least you guys aren’t dark academia Christmas.” As she stuck her tongue out at James.
“It’s complementary colors! The label wouldn’t let me go with anything else!”
Just then, an usher came up to remind them to find their seats.
James thanked the reporter and kissed Lily on the cheek before holding his arm out for her to take, “Mi’ Lady.”
“Sir.” Lily nodded as they turned to walk into the arena
It was now time to announces the winners for best kiss.
He was up against people who had won before, like Kristen Stewart. And was up against newbies, like Ben Barnes.
As they called out the nominees, Lily wished it had been she James was kissing so intimately on that Jumbotron. Not Hestia or Donna.
But… she got the real James. Those other people only got James’ fictional character. She got to see him when he woke up with sleep mused hair, got to hug him from behind when he was cooking her breakfast, got to enjoy his whispers about cupcakes and Avengers, and most importantly, she got to kiss the real James whenever she pleased.
She smiled as James waved to the crowd when the award presenter (TAYLOR SWIFT!!) mentioned how he was nominated for two kisses, and he blew a kiss when he was panned on to the big screens.
“And now, the winner for The Best On Screen Kiss— “ Taylor began.
It felt like it took ages for her to open that envelope. So long, that Sirius had enough time to ruffle James’ hair.
But then Taylor’s eyes read across the envelope and—“James Potter and Hestia Jones!”
James beamed as he stood to take his award, Hestia a few rows behind them walking down the steps to meet him. Lily was cheering, Sirius was whooping, and Remus smiling so wide.
James then turned around and winked at Lily before kissing her on the cheek, and then walked with Hestia up to the stage to grab the award from Taylor Swift.
Lily was beaming as she waited to see what James would say in his speech.
He let Hestia go first, and she thanked her family, the producers, her boyfriend Benji Fenwick, and then finally James.
“And obviously, a huge thank you to James. This wouldn’t have been possible without you.”
Lily smiled as Hestia giggled into the microphone.
“The same goes for you Hestia! I’d also like to thank my darling girlfriend, Lily, who supported me through the failures and successes of this industry. And I suppose I should also thank Sirius and Remus for supporting my dream to become an actor, even if they just wanted the free invite to the red carpet.” the crowd chuckled as Sirius yelled “It’s true! The cupcakes were killer!”
James continued, “Thank you to my mom and dad, who loved me and supported me. And a huge thank you to all the fans who watched and voted and supported me. You are all a blessing, have a great night!” He waved as he and Hestia made their way back to their seats.
Lily was so incredibly proud of her boyfriend. He’s worked so hard to make a name in this industry and he genuinely loves what he does.
As James sat down, she leaned on his shoulder to whisper in his ear, “I love you and I’m so proud of you.”
James’ eyes twinkled as he whispered back, “I love you so much darling.”
And then he kissed the tip of her nose.
As they we’re leaving, Lily’s arm in the crook of James’, with cameras flashing all around, a paparazzi agent with bejeweled glasses stopped her by thrusting a microphone into her face.
“Quick! What’s it like to kiss the best kisser here at The Oscars?”
Lily spoke without thinking, “You’ll have to ask James.”
Sirius barked a laugh and Remus smirked.
James beamed in response before dramatically grabbing the microphone from the reporter. “It really is spectacular! She’s taught me everything I know”. He finished with a wink to the reporter, who Lily noticed was named Rita.
“Really? Had a lot of boyfriends in the past then Lily?”
“Anddd we’re done here,” James said as he put his hand at the small of Lily’s back to guide them back to where they were originally heading.
