Just got my first callback :D

It’s an incredible experience to- for the first time in my life- have someone who actively wants me to do what I love

The only issue: I’d have to miss my morning classes for like a month for performances. This could be an issue because it would be the fall of my freshman year at a new school.

Still cool to have been selected for callbacks even if it turns out I’ll have to decline 🥹🥲

#acting #actor struggles #the struggle is real #acting is not made for kids who aren’t homeschooled #I’m taking as high level acting classes as I can as a child who attends school and has some semblance of a life #and still almost all of my peers at this level are homeschooled #cause they have the time and (more importantly) the flexibility to do this sort of stuff #I don’t have that option #I don’t have those opportunities #i don’t have the time #no matter how hard i try #or how devoted I am #I have stretched my mind and my body to their limits for this #I have torn myself to shreds in the name of love #a love of acting #a love of the theater #a love of art #going to school each day #and then going to rehearsals straight after #and not getting home ‘til 9 pm #and then doing all my homework before I can finally sleep #the number of times I have done my homework on the bus to school because rehearsals ran late #or we were doing choreography/stage combat/etc.#no one can say I haven’t worked for this #I worked on honing my craft and I worked on building so much trust with my school that they would’ve pretty easily allowed me to do this #but it came just a few months too late #I’m moving to a new school #one with whom I have not built up that intense trust in my dedication and my abilities #one that may not be as lenient/flexible #and I am certainly not yet on grounds to get the theater company I’d be working for to be flexible for my schooling
