Ok, we are starting off strong with the first recommendation. DRUMROLL PLEASE… I Married a Lizardman by Regine Abel. I cannot express how much I love the Prime Mating Agency series. While this is not my favorite book in this series, I love all of the books, so I’ll just recommend the first one to start with. Each book can be a read as a standalone, but, in my opinion, the exposition added with each book is really important to me as a reader. It starts of with a human woman from a rural colony somewhere deep in space who is unfortunately screwed by circumstance and does not have prospects on her planet. So she approaches an alien dating agency to be paired with a husband, who just so happens to be a species of alien that resemble lizard people. It’s heartwarming, it’s cute, it tackles the horror of colonization and how capitalistic greed affects native populations. It has it all, and does not involve conspiracies. That’s just a bad coincidence. So, please, read this book. Out of 5, I give this a 🌶 ranking of 2.
