Unpopular opinion, I think having safe medical procedures done on people with BIID who experience extreme distress from their disorder is not only the best route of care, but also morally correct.

I would rather a person willingly get a limb amputated than kill themself because of their disorder. If your only argument against this is "but being disabled is terrible!" You are ableist.

Happy disability pride month to those of us with BID! To those of us who feel like they aren't allowed to call themselves disabled. And to those of us who are vocal about how their BID disables them. Those of us who simulate disability. And those of us who aren't safe to simulate. Those of us who want to actualize. And those of us who have decided the pain of dysphoria is more manageable than the struggles of a physical disability.

We need pride too. And whether or not the broader disability community accepts us, we can share a quiet pride amongst each other.

Saying you hate transabled people and then putting at the bottom of your post under "read more", but not people with BIID though I guess. They're just mentally ill freaks who deserve empathy because they're fucking insane, hurts people with BIID/BID.

This is just like saying, "I hate queer people, EXCEPT for those disgusting fucking mentally ill faggots who keep it in their own home. Those are okay."

You are not an ally to pwBIID, nor are you an ally to anyone with a highly misunderstood disorder.

Many people with BIID identify with the term transabled, and it was originally coined with BIID in mind. Does your support end for pwBIID when they use the term transabled? Does your support only exist on the condition that pwBIID are "good and civilized" mentally ill people, and end when they go outside of your small box of what is okay and what is not?

So no, you cannot claim support for people with BIID if you go around parading how much you hate us and want us dead.

people with BIID are not the only "valid" transableds.

stop saying that everyone who identifies as transabled and doesn't have BIID is "doing it for the aesthetic" or "just attention seeking".

a person can have atypical dysphoria without having BIID.

and even if a person DOESN'T experience dysphoria, they are still valid.

You do not know us. You will NEVER in your life understand how it feels to have BIID, and I will not fucking let you dictate my feelings about the disorder.

You do not get to trample over a community of people with an extremely rare disorder.

WE, the community, do our own research. We have been doing shit on our own for years, and that will not change just because some random asshat on Tumblr thinks that they know more about BIID than the people with the fucking disorder.

I don't give a fuck if you think elective amputation for BIID is "romanticizing disability" because all it proves to me is that you have no ability to think critically, and have NEVER FUCKING EVER, talked to someone with BIID before in a genuine sense.

I have seen amputations save people's lives. I have seen other methods of achieving one's need save their life.

I do not give a single flying fuck that you think that is bad, I am just happy my friends don't want to kill themselves anymore.
