I was helping my friend's 8 year old with writing- both mom and I suspect hEDS- she was getting frustrated because it's hard to hold a pencil because her thumb keeps folding backwards. We try a few adaptive pencil holds but they all feel too weird for her and she switches to knitting, but after several minutes her hands are tired and cramping.
Me: Your hands are getting tired because the muscles have to work harder.
Less than 10 minutes later I am drawing and getting frustrated because my hand is tired and cramping.
Me: Ugh, why does my hand hurt and tire out so quickly.
*headdesk*
Me: oh yeah, I forgot that I have a muscular disorder and my hand also "works harder"
