I was tagged by the lovely actuallyoakland!  I miss you tons but I'm still not gonna think of new questions haha ;)

shorts or skirts or what have you? whats your go-to for the summer months? I prefer shorts but only slightly.  Good shorts can match anything but skirts have that nice airy feel.

what country are most of the foreign films you watch from? if you dont ever watch foreign films, why not? I once watched The Garden of Words and Ponyo, which are both Japanese.  I suppose I don't watch many foreign films because I don't like reading subtitles.

most embarrassing phase in the last 2 years? Often the term "misandrist" is used incorrectly but I classify 5th grade to 7th grade Michel as an actual misandrist believe it or not.

are you pro- or anti- platonic hand holding? It's interesting that I've never really thought about this.  I don't think I'm the hand-holding type at all.

what is the best pet which has scales and not fur? snakes?

name a few albums you’ve been into lately? Haha this reminds me that I should actually resume exploring other music instead of shuffling the same stuff over and over again.  Coldplay's new album is absolutely stunning, but you probably knew I was going to say that so I'm also into Grouplove recently.

was there ever a time in your life when you staunchly opposed a genre of music you like now? Oh of course.  I used to be very judgmental about music before I got over myself.  Anyway I used to despise One Direction for some reason but they seem to be really nice and talented.

how comfortable do you feel abt doubt? Doubt and uncertainty is not too bad.  Nothing is black and white after all.  

are you more psyched or neutral abt the upcoming summer? Very neutral.

what spf do you use? around 20 or 25 I think.  

have you ever transferred from or “quit” something even though it was a hard decision? whats ur story with that? Yeah I quit piano in 8th grade.  I definitely wanted to but I had a lot of pressure to continue by my parents and I had a very excellent teacher.  I'm still glad I was able to quit eventually, though.

5: Talk about the best birthday you’ve had.

I threw a winter-themed party for my 14th.  That was the year I made a lot of new friends and everyone came.  I sprayed people with silver hairspray and decorated my house and had an ice cream cake.  It made me really happy.  

10: Talk about the biggest fight you’ve ever had.

I once got into a huge fight with my friend in sixth grade.  It started over a really small thing (she gave me a couple quarters and I spent them) that was really the result of us growing apart and me growing sick of her obnoxious ways.  We kind of made amends but had another fight after she talked shit to my friend.  This lasted until seventh grade.  She tried to ruin my life by luring my friends away from me but it didn’t work haha.  Eventually, after she moved to a different school, she called me up one day and said she was sorry for everything.  And I was too.  We chat online occasionally.

15: Talk about the time you were most content in life.

Seventh grade was very happy for me.  I found new people to sit with at lunch and made a lot of my current friends that way.  They always made me laugh.  Still do.

20: Talk about something that happened in high school.

Well my happiest memory is gathering beside my friend’s locker and gradually getting woken up by all the laughing.  Eventually a huge group would gather there before homeroom even though we’re all a bunch of losers.

25: Talk about an ex-best friend.

I really miss my elementary school friend Lisa.  We liked singing and chatting and reading the same book series together.  But in middle school we didn’t have any classes and we lost contact.  I mean, she’s wants to be friends again and I do too, but there doesn’t seem to be any time to hang out and catch up.

30: Talk about what turns you off.

35: Talk about things you wish you could stop doing.

I wish I could stop making so many careless mathematical errors.  I wish I could stop being so awkward around people at school.  I wish I could stop being shy.  I wish I could stop procrastinating - I even put off STUFF I WANT TO DO.  I wish I could stop caring about people who’ll never care about me in the same way.

40: Talk about the end of something in your life

At the end of CTY (summer camp) this year, I literally could not stop crying.  I was a waterfall.  That camp had become my home.  I’m still a little tender about this so that’s all I’ll say.

1. would you ever use a ouija board? why or why not and if so what would you use it for 

Well, if it worked, I would use it to, quite reasonably, talk to the deceased. I can't imagine they'd have all that much practical knowledge, however. It would just be interesting. 

2. do you have a loving or hateful relationship with nathaniel hawthorne?

Neither, really. We don't have any relationship at all. I'm honestly not even sure who he is.

3. do you ever lie about what books youve read for a conversations sake?

Nope. I could easily end up making an ass of myself in the end, even if I got some generic points right.

4. if finding real happiness meant dropping every tie you have right now and just picking up and starting over in a new place with no way to return would you do it? is it worth it?

It would depend. If it meant reinventing all my current relationships, I might consider it in exchange for true happiness, to be honest. Because if true happiness can still be offered, that implies I'm not truly happy in my current relationships. However, if I had to drop all my interests- i. e., I couldn't maintain my previous studies, I lost access to everything I had ever written or thought, and I had to pursue a different field, I would rather take my chances on inventing my own happiness.

5. do you meet people and mean to leave a mark on them somehow? do you think it happens?

Yes, it does. My goal is to make each person think a little bit harder than they would have otherwise- they don't have to change their mind, and I don't necessarily agree with everything I impart, but I always wish to broaden people's perspectives and, if possible, share knowledge.

6. do you watch foreign films? if so, which ones do you like best?

No, sorry. I don't watch many films at all.

7. why ””purple mountains majesty”’? why not blue mountains?

Because the mountains in question appear purple, fool!

well if im making a text post i hope will be popular or im texting on a shitty phone im probs gonna talk like this because its standard tumblr vernacular and makes ppl more comfortable and relaxed

Whereas if I'm having a formal argument or making a point, I will usually use at least semi-proper capitalization and punctuation, and when I speak aloud you can practically hear the capital letters.

9. people who inconsistenly abbreviate ”u” for ”’you””: can they be trusted

well u know i do that so i guess i say you should trust me???

10. is it more important to be loving and understanding or to be right and just? (i know that they are not mutually exclusive but on the occasion you would have to choose)

It depends on which would benefit the current situation. This sounds like a wishy-washy answer, but it's true. My gut instinct is to go with right and just, but I'm learning to curb that in favour of the best possible outcome.

11. what cartoon/song/book/game/etc etc left the biggest impression on you as a kid? why do you think that happened? are you glad? AAAAAANIMORPHS! It basically taught me the difference between some rights and wrongs, as well as the shades of gray. Additionally, it opened my mind to various ideas of philosophy, phenomenology, neuroscience, addiction, and most of all, FREEDOM! I studied every individual animal they morphed into, as well, which helped to shape my research skills and vast fund of knowledge. God, I love Animorphs. You once told me you would take my word for how great they were, though, and wouldn't bother reading them. Shame.
