Settling in on the new Resistance base has been hard. Rey finds that everyone seems to have some kind of duty set before them but, she’s never been in this kind of environment before. No one had ever expected anything of her before. The only person holding her to any sort of expectation was herself, and one could count Unkar Plutt, though he was a bit of a stretch. Here, though, on the base, Rey finds that being thrown among a busy mass of people all with things to do, is really alienating. She doesn’t know what to do...or who to talk to to get assigned something to do.
She feels utterly useless.
Furthermore, trying to assimilate into this group of people has proven to be rather difficult. Rey finds that she doesn’t do much in the way of socializing, and that a lot of these people are so very hard for her to relate to. Especially now. Especially now that she has so many secrets to keep from them.
Secrets about the new Supreme Leader.
She has taken to isolating herself on their new base. Finding places no one visits is fairly simple with so few people left. But when she gets to the usual place, a small alcove nestled between the hangar and the med bay, it is already being occupied. Rey had heard of the girl, but never really had seen her before. Either way, she awkwardly takes a step back from the doorway, feeling as though she’s intruding.
“Oh, terribly sorry.” She apologizes. “I didn’t realize someone was already here.”
