Headcanon

Regarding scars in my Star Wars verses (not including Space Queen!verse): Guin has a multitude of scars. Most of them are small things, including the sort of tiny scars you get from wind and from working with your hands. Constellations of pale dots from the sands blown around on Jakku. That sort of thing. She also has a few noticeable scars in these verses, from worse injuries. Those are detailed below.

Star Wars!verse, Resistance!verse/Resistance!verse subset:

Clawmarks on her right shoulder from being attacked by a gnaw-jaw her first time out scavenging on Jakku

A blaster bolt scar on her left bicep from when she was still learning how to use the Force to heal

Another blaster bolt scar direct center beneath her ribs from defending a friend from mercenaries--she nearly didn’t survive that battle, and was lucky her friend got her to a medcenter in time

Dark Side!verse:

A small surgical scar near right hip from having her appendix removed

A gash on her upper arm and two scars (one front and one back) just below her ribs on the left side from fighting a bounty hunter who wielded a cortosis-weave enhanced vibrosword

Two nearly invisible silvery lines beside her right eye, reminiscent of claw marks, from her mask being knocked from her face

Annual Checkup

Atropa Ren readied herself to enter the medbay with a sigh that was greatly distorted by the voice modulator in her mask. Time for the annual checkup, and she’d already been betrayed by one part of her body in the past--a tiny organ that had subsequently been removed, and really, of what use was an appendix?--and she wouldn’t risk it happening again.

Atropa sensed something was wrong as they walked through the palace halls. Something was...off...in Daya’s Force signature, but what exactly was hidden from her somehow. When Daya started to sway, the Knight immediately moved from her position a few steps behind to a hair’s breadth from Daya’s shoulder to steady her. “Are you all right, Your Majesty?” she murmured, her concern audible even through her mask’s voice modulator.

 ((It’s facing the wrong direction, but this was the only one with a crescent in front of it...But that doesn’t matter, ‘cause Atropa would never allow her Empress to wander alone, so it’s a moot point.))

It had been a while since their last encounter... Ren wasn't purposefully trying to avoid Gwen, but matters of war and state took up her time. But today as Ren traveled the halls she caught sight of the younger woman.

Guin sensed the other woman’s Force signature a good distance down the hall. With how long Ren had been with the Order now, she’d grown to be able to tell the subtle differences between the woman’s signature and her Master’s signature. That didn’t make her any less emotionally affected when, for many cycles, she’d only sensed her Master’s Force signature nearby. As if Ren was avoiding her. It shouldn’t have affected her, but it did. So when she sensed Ren drawing nearer, she was glad for the concealment provided by her mask and hood, though they only masked her expressions and not her emotions.

Morning After

Guin sensed Kylo Ren watching her as she dressed, pulling her tunic over her shoulders and wrapping the crimson sash around her waist so the ends were tucked in seamlessly. “You’re not making a very good attempt at hiding your emotions, Lady Kylo,” the apprentice said matter-of-factly, feeling the other woman’s disappointment. She turned and knelt beside Kylo, then--surprisingly gently--leaned down to caress the slightly older woman’s jaw and press her lips to Kylo’s. “I simply don’t wish to implicate you when our ride back to the base arrives,” she smiled. “You gave me quite a night to remember.”

Betrayal

Within her own head, the Knight was screaming, forced to watch as her body betrayed her once again. Watch as her own hands unclipped the ‘saber hilt from her belt and ignited the crimson blade, driving it into and through her Empress’ abdomen. She was able to wrest control away from the being invading her mind just in time to avoid piercing anything vital, but it was too late to keep Daya from being hurt.

She extinguished the blade and caught Daya as she started to fall, gently lowering her to floor and cradling her, tears dripping from the bottom edge of her mask as she stammered out repeated apologies and focused on channeling the Dark Side to heal the wound as much as she could.

“I’m sorry---I’m sorry--It wasn’t--I was being controlled--I--” Even to her, the excuses, truthful as they were, sounded feeble and weak. How could she have failed so horribly to protect the Empress that her own hand would be the one to deal the blow?
