Am I one day late on this? Absolutely! In my defense I forgot yesterday was Friday.
Lets get into what I was up to the last couple days!
First up, REFERENCES!
This is now everyone (Minus one, who doesn't really 'appear') that appears in the demo's main gameplay. I am quite frankly tired of drawing references so Nico, Falks, and possibly the Racoons will have to wait for another day when I have energy (And a need to draw them).
TEST SPRITES
Ignoring the roughness of it (And also the bald Ei in the background), I've started trying to figure out in-engine animation and layered sprites. By next week I'm hoping to have a test Ei sprite to match. I'm hoping to have a short segment ready for pitch night, as requested.
OTHER
Other than that in the last couple days I've been checking in with my composter (I'll have a list of music needed for them by Halloween) as well as discussing writing progress with my writer @roedent-official. We've also been discussing Voiceless Voice acting and how to best go about it, coming up with assigning voice classes instead of giving each character their own voice.
Of this list we'll only be seeing Guile, Rosswelle, Ei, Lin, Rosa (Possibly Nico), Apple, Dottere, Hyde, Tate and Ariel.... with speaking lines anyways.
I've been working on and off on my presentation for pitch night, but I don't overly know what to add and what to leave out so I've been struggling with it.
So! I forgot to start this on time but that's fine! Lets go over what's going on, shall we?
WHAT I ALREADY HAD:
So, Go For It Guile is finished, meaning that I can reuse some of the backend stuff. Mainly, references.
You may notice that Guile isn't a part of this, that's because I don't have a use for a lot of his GFIG outfits in AD IN.
I also already had draft 1 of the script done, thanks to @roedent-official I've managed to edit the prologue, as well as 1.1
I also had slides made to give myself a rough idea of what I wanted for each menu, which can be found HERE.
NEW STUFF:
So, we've continued with references so far.
I only have a couple references left to do, most of which are half done, before all the characters that appear in chapter 1 are finished. After that my focus is shifting over to editing the rest of chapter 1, and tempspriting.
I'm trying to get references out of the way as soon as possible so I can hand things off easier in the future.
As far as coding, I've been mainly working on menus. I'm hoping to have all the(really poorly done) menus finished soon.
I also! Worked on figuring out an inspiration sheet which can be found HERE. I've been trying to figure out the easiest way to split the sprites for animation, while still keeping the outfit changing option as an option.
In all honesty, I took it rather easy for the first couple weeks because I had just finished GFIG less than a week before.
ALSO WE HAVE A POTENTIAL TRAILER EDITER! I've made an offer with Vic to help with creating their props and they've offered to help me out in aftereffects.
I've set up a task list that I can share with my practitioners and use to assign projects. I've been using this instead of a proper production schedule, because it lets me lay out what needs to be done, while also assigning things.
I'd like to have a couple extremely short animated sections, so I've started the thumbnailing for both, as well as the animatic for one.
I can't upload the animatic here, so take a link to the video. Scratch sound for this (and the other animatic I've yet to make) coming later. I figured that sprites were a more immediate focus over small animations for the game.
All and all, we're on our way!
I'll have another (updated update) on friday. Just wanted to catch up on what I forgot to do.
