Monday 5th September
1000 – 1300
1400 – 1700
Sign up sheets for these inductions will be posted on the notice board outside the Tool Room from this morning.
Things to remember when you come to the workshop for an induction;
1. Arrive prepared and on time. The workshop begins at the advertised time so get there early. If you arrive late you may have missed too much information and will not be able to participate in that session.
2. Wear sensible workshop clothing. You must wear shoes that enclose your entire foot. Leather boots with a flat sole or low heel are required. Jeans and t-shirts are ok but try not to wear loose or flowing clothing and jewellery.
3. Have your dust mask ready. You must have a suitable dust mask to work in the workshop (minimum P2 disposable respiratory protection required in the metal workshop). These can be purchased from the Tool Room (FG04) in advance before the induction begins. To do this you need to pay using your student card, so remember to bring it with you on the day. You can recharge your student card online at http://recharge.it.unsw.edu.au or at a recharge station on campus (Located in the library ground floor A block or level 1 corridor D block at the Paddington campus).
These inductions are very popular and will fill up fast so go down to the Tool Room as soon as possible to ensure you can take part.
