When this day began Whumper didn't expect to find themselves at the wrong side of a blade by the time it ended.

Yet here they were, lying in their bed while Whumpees dark silhouette held a knife high above them in their slightly trembling hands.

Whumper sighed, they weren't really in the mood to dish out a punishment right now, having been asleep and all but seems like their little toy wasn't giving them a choice. And so they slowly started sitting up, careful not to lose sight of the weapon.

"Don't-don't fucking move!", Whumpee warned, hands holding the knife handle tighter. "Don't move or I swear we will finally get to find out what your blood looks and tastes like instead of mine!"

Whumper hesitated only a moment at that. Only long enough to shoot their insubordinate little plaything a look. That was all it took for Whumpee's eyes to widen so delicously and their hands to start trembling, holding the knife closer to their body again. So now Whumper could finally sit up and move their legs over the edge of the bed, however not turning on the nightstand lamp, not yet. „So let‘s talk.“

„I don‘t want to fucking talk! I want to end this!“, Whumpee yelled.

„Quiet!", Whumper commanded, voice suddenly rising as well, still rough from sleep. "Let‘s discuss," they continued normally again, "Why I find myself on the end of a blade by someone whom I‘ve taught what happens if they ever dare to try and harm me. Let‘s philosophize about how you are out of your room which you were just recently locked into due to random disobedience.

„Stop it! Stop talking!“, Whumpee yelled, interrupting Whumper and wrapping their shaking fingers closer around the hilt of the knife. Knuckles having turned white.

„Because you told me to? Demanded it? I thought I had ingrained into you where your place is. Do you earnestly think holding that knife in your hands is what gives you power? First, it was your friends‘s safety as leverage that gave me power. And after that, my sweet, mine, slowly but surely, it was my efforts and your losses that gave me power. Every time you cowered when I threatened. Each time you begged after I dealt that one drop too much pain, and every single time you surrendered to the comfort only I provided you.“

"Shut up, shut the fuck up.", Whumpee demanded but it was more akin to a whimper now.

"No, you will be silent!", Whumper yelled, quickly standing up now with a lot of noise. Making himself large. "Why should I tolerate such insoltent behaviour from a nothing like you!?"

Whumpee whimpered violently and dropped to the floor. Scrambling backwards on their knees.

„I own you, and you best remember that you are nothing without me.“ Whumper stepped to Whumpee, backing them against a wall by their mere approach, and leaning down. They trapped Whumpee‘s jaw in their hand and forcefully tilted it up against the terrified flinches and trembling. „So. One more time. Do you think you get to demand anything?“

Whumpees eyes downcast in Whumper‘s hold. „No, Whumper.“

„And do you think its okay to blatantly break the rules I set for you, escape your room, Draw A Blade At Me!? Especially for something like you, my sweet little puppet?“

A tear escaped Whumpees eye. „No, Whumper, I‘m sorry. I shouldn’t have done any of it.“

„Very good, darling.“ Whumper reached behind them where the knife had been left abandoned on the floor and picked it up before straightening up and turning on the nightstand lamp. Moving over to their desk they grabbed a length of course rope. „Whumpee. Get on your knees prettily, by the bed. Don‘t move.“, they ordered.

Their victim immediately complied and while Whumper tied them down in a kneeling stress position the only thing going through Whumpees mind besides dull shock and adrenaline was self-loathing.

Of course they had to go and mess things up. Why could they think that that they could be anything more than a plaything for torture successfully. Anything more than a slave. Thin was the only thing they were good for. And Whumper was the only one merciful enough to let them try anew time and time again. This was all their worth, hoping for anything else was foolish and pathetic. Gosh they were so sorry. And so gross.

Whumper finished tying the last knot and gave Whumpee a kiss on the forehead before violently stabbing the knife into the floorboards before their tied up plaything. „I‘ll talk to you tomorrow, sweetheart.“

And with that the nightstand lamp turned off once more. Leaving familiar darkness and familiar words to mingle in Whumpees sleepess brain.

Character: Adam

° Adam is your run-of-the-mill chef. He has his own restaurant in the city, which is one of the most popular ones in the area. His food is just that good, it will melt on your tongue and the savoury taste will haunt you for the rest of your life and force you to come back. It's great for business.

° Being busy in maintaining the restaurant he never really had time getting out there, you know. Going on dates and such was never an option for him, not if he wished to keep his establishment. Which was something he couldn't risk losing since it had been his dream for a very long time, ever since he was a young boy.

° It's not like he wanted to live alone for the rest of his life, he would die of happiness to have someone to love him for him and be able to come home to a set of warm open arms. But sadly the conditions hindered him from reaching out and search for the one. Adam is a romantic at heart, his other dream besides being a chef is to experience the love he witnessed his parents give each other.

° growing up in a home where his parents openly displayed deep affection for one another, it obviously rubbed of on their son. Compared to most kids who expressed disgust when seeing their parents kissing or hugging, he thought it was cute and felt lucky to have been born in a loving family. They always said they were soulmates and when they met they instantly knew they belonged together. It made him long to grow up and find his true love.

° Adam believed he would have to give up on that dream and focus on his career until he died. But you restored hope in his heart. You made it beat wildly and uncontrollably. He'd hoped for love all his life and he finally got it, but he didn't know it'd be so...strong. So...overwhelming.

° How you met is quite obvious, you decided to visit his restaurant together with a friend after seeing a post online referring to the place and becoming interested. Adam somehow got sight of you and thought you seemed like a lovely and kind person, and he was right. Listening of conversations after being intrigued by you, he found out you were exactly how he believed you'd be. Becoming more and more engrossed in you to the point you were plaguing his mind every day.

° He began watching you every time you sat foot inside his restaurant which eventually turned into more, he followed you to other places.

° As a chef, cooking and sharing his self made dishes with others is natural. But it meant nothing if he could please you with his skills. The thought of you enjoying his creations gave him that incredible feeling of both pride and joy. He’ll cook for you anytime you want and put lots of love and care into it. It was you after all, not some nameless customer that he saw on a daily basis.

° He is without a doubt one of the sweetest boyfriends you could have, he’ll cook for you, do some cleaning, and spoil you to his content. You think he’s a little overbearing? No no, he’s simply looking after you. He loves you so much he can’t stop! You take that he’s too jealous at times? They’re trying to get between you, he can’t let them. It’s too hard to be with him, you can’t take it much longer. You realise he isn’t the best boyfriend that you initially thought and begin to distance yourself from him, when he confronts you about it you play it off and asks what he is talking about. Too bad he can easily read you, it won’t work. He knows you’re avoiding him on purpose.

° He will try everything in his power to find out what exactly is wrong and why you’re pulling away from him. But every time he asks you ignore him and go to busy yourself with something else. He’ll try again and again, but there’s only so much he can take until he won’t.

° Adam will have to channel his emotions somewhere, and that is towards your friends. The ones who must have put you up to it. The ones who must have brainwashed you into distancing yourself.

° He always wondered if people would be able to differ animal meat from their own.

Woah! Day two of @thepromptfoundry OC-tober!

This one’s about Adam! Him and Eli from the first prompt are old friends :) plus I Managed to force a quick doodle out as well!

30 minutes, 30 minutes left of his shift, then Adam could leave. the bright computer was already giving him a headache, it was just 30 more minutes, it shouldn’t be too hard. the phone rang, he answered in a monotoned fashion

“Hello, how can I help you?”

It was an old lady, she seemed angry, yelling at him non stop

“Ma’am-“

She wouldn’t stop, wouldn’t even let him talk, so he just listened, zoning out of the conversation most of the time, eventually she stopped, then hung up. Adam took a sigh of relief, or exhaustion, he wasn’t sure anymore.

Adam Turned back to the computer, back to work, this was for money, he had to.

26 minutes left.

The ticking of the clock was teasing Adam, he swore it. like a donut on a string. The tie around his neck was starting to choke him out. And he could feel the tag on his shirt. ugh.

Another ring, it wasn’t from the office phone, it was his own. He answered.

“Hey Adam! How’re you my guy?”

It was Asher, Eli’s friend. he forgot he gave his number to him.

“Hello, I’m at work”

He was too tired to try to put emotion into anything

“Oh! Sorry didn’t mean to interrupt you, it’s just…..”

He didn’t like it when people apologized, they made it seem like they owed something to him. They never did owe him anything. He’s getting off topic.

“Me, Eli and Kippy were going to a movie in an hour and Eli said your shift ends soon, you wanna come with us? We can pick you up”

God a break sounds great to Adam right now. Change into a tshirt and sweatpants, and go sit in the dark for an hour or so? Seems like heaven.

“Yes….. sorry- yes please.”

“Great! We’ll pass by in a few minutes, and go to your house to drop off your things, yeah?”

Adam let out a sigh of relief, yeah, that one was relief. He was more excited than he had thought he’d be, this was great.

“Yeah, thanks,”

“Great! See ya soon!”

The call hung up. Adam was quite happy to have such an event waiting for him just outside. But there was still some disappointment, he’d rather hear his friend’s voice than some rude costumer. Right, costumers, his job. Focus.

The work phone rang, he hesitated, then picked it up.

“Hello, how can I help you?”

Another angry costumer,

Adam checked the clock.

Adam - the man from last night - was pacing rather erratically until he saw me.

"They got you into the system, eh?"

I nodded, spying the breakfast tray on the floor. Sitting down with my legs crossed, I poked the eggs on my plate.

"The examiner - how did she do that?" I glance upwards, "She made me speak - speak so... So -"

"Truthfully." Adam's hazel eyes met mine seriously, "It's part of her ability. It's why she got the job here. Just how Jonah is a conditioner, she's a medical examiner for a reason."

Swallowing my mouthful of eggs got harder.

"A - a conditioner!"

He nods, eyes fluttering briefly in defeat.

"I got nabbed just as I made a lead on the missing person's case. Well - what I thought was a lead. It was a trap." he shot me a sideways look, "Jonah is a vampire who specialises in hypnosis, calming humans into a trance which allows vampires to keep them captive willingly. They call hypnotised humans 'thralls'."

While I shake my head in outward disbelief, I feel my world shrinking to the bars in front of me.

Conditioning. Vampires. Thralls.

I suddenly think of the dead-eyed people who I'd seen yesterday - shuffling about, aimless and detached.

I look up, clenching my utensils uselessly, "I'm going to be a thrall? I - I was just getting a book for Lucas."

Adam seemed to age before me, the youthful seriousness morphing into a look of resignation.

"I was meant to have made contact with my team two days ago. They'll be searching for me. I just hope they don't get caught in the process. I couldn't cope if my whole team was mind-wiped because of my mistake." he gritted his teeth, glaring at the door.

"Jonah won't take my mind easily. Has already had a hard time with it." he sends me a catching smile, despite the pain in his eyes, "A friend of mine said, in order to resist vampiric influence, just cling onto the happy stuff. Their whole shindig is getting us to relax into something happier, but if we already know we are content in the real world without their influence, we can combat it."

"Are you part of the police, investigating in this stuff? Like a small sect of it?"

Adam nods, scratching his head, "Yeah, you could say that." he leans forward, resting his forehead against the bars, "We've trained for something like this. We're gonna get out."

I smile slightly, allowing Adam's hope to seep through. Despite the cells the dead-eyes of the people around us which seemed perfectly content, I wasn't ready to become one of them.

I wanted to be me.

There was little activity within the cells that morning, apart from Jonah interacting with a few of the - not-people - people down the row.

Adam looked up. His eyes narrowed as Jonah eventually left the thralls to their lunches and walked towards us.

I shift backwards on my cot, fingers clutching my book. It was a crappy mystery novel, and yet it was easier to think about than my current predicament.

I'd already searched the floor for any tools to escape, sniffed at the corners of bed to see if there was a hidden incision in the mattress for something useful. Adam had seen my attempt and merely laughed. From the curl of his lips, I could tell he was holding back a tease on my hopeless searching.

Jonah looked at me, pursing his lips. Then Adam clicked his fingers.

"Oi, leechy, leave her alone."

The unbridled anger in Jonah's snarl made me squeak, and I stare at Adam in warning.

"Don't provoke him, idiot." I hiss, despite the flutter of appreciation in my chest.

Adam looked at me sympathetically, "He doesn't get lip from anyone else."

Jonah's sour expression focused on Adam, "You've made your choice quite clear. Your session will be first. Come." with a click of Jonah's fingers, a guard vampire enters the room, a sneer on his face. A new scar had left an ugly blemish on his cheek.

Adam gaped. A slight flicker of fear slipped through the bravado.

"God. You look even worse than you did after I first marked you."

The guard vampire's eyes flared in triumph as he saw Adam, "And you, human, are looking weaker without your stake."

Stake.

Stake.

"Buffy was right all along -" I whisper to myself, looking over to Adam in shock.

Adam hears. He smiles with a grin I could imagine him wearing when fighting a vampire.

"Yeah, these bozos picked me up on another hunt. We had heard of an auction house being nearby, but -" Adam shrugged, "Turns out it was closer than I expected."

Jonah leant on his cane, curling his lip in annoyance, "Harvi, please get the human. I am running out of patience."

Harvi takes no time in sauntering into Adam's cage and holding up the cuffs, "Come here, little human."

Adam leans away, looking at Jonah, "I'll be good."

Jonah's eyes remained narrowed, "I doubt that."

Adam shrugged, sending me a glance, "I tried."

I giggle.

Jonah fixes his gaze on me, colder than usual. I close my mouth, unable to feel anything other than fear. I'm finally able to breathe when Jonah looks away.

I hear the clink of cuffs on Adam, and he calls out before Harvi yanks him gleefully through the door, "Hey! Remember - happy thoughts."

Thunk. The door slammed shut. I'm alone now, with only my thoughts for company.
