You loved days you stayed close to a lake or an ocean especially on beautiful, warm, sunny days like today. You got to lay out on the beach in bikinis that showed off your toned body. There were, of course, scars you couldn’t hide but that didn’t stop you from showing yourself off.
You loved attention so of course you flashed flirty smiles and gave sly winks to anyone who gave you attention.
Adam hated beaches. He knew while he was in town or working on plans you’d be flirting with the locals. He knew you only did it to rile him up and would never betray him or his trust. It didn’t matter though it still got under his skin.
You waited until Adam was gone long enough he couldn’t stop you from stretching yourself out on a blanket where you could soak up the sun, enjoying the waves crashing a few feet from your toes.
“You’re blocking my sun,” you commented as a big shadow covered your face.
“Yeah, well, you’re tainting our beach,” a gruff voice replied.
You opened your eye and peaked at the large man standing over you and his friend beside him.
“That’s what the blanket is for,” you replied smartly, “Not touching the sand so we’re good. Move along.”
He growled and stepped closer, “Your kind isn’t welcome here. Your filth is not welcome.”
You sat up, propping yourself on your elbows. “Yeah. You do know this,” you pointed to your ears, “Is genetics not a disease. Much like your low intelligence is genetics.”
“What did you say?” he growled and grabbed one of your arms and pulled you to a stand.
“Oh, sorry didn’t realize hearing loss came with stupidity,” you taunted. His friend grabbed you, actually hurting you with his grip. “Ow. You oaf, that hurts.”
The talkative one chuckled, “Not so tough now. Know your place.”
“Know yours!” you shouted, getting your arm free and slapping him, activating your semblance while doing so. His friend got wide eyed at what you had done. You turned to him, “I suggest you run or you're next.”
He instantly dropped your arm and started backing away when he bumped into Adam’s chest. Adam looked from the guy to your arm, “I would have stuck with her. She’s a dream compared to me.”
“What is going on?!” the guy squawked then dropped you realizing you had something. He reached out to touch his face only to discover a beak in place, feathers took the place of his hair, “What have you done to me?!”
“I simply awakened the genes that are dormant within you. Looks like you’re a big old chicken. No surprise. Shame the effects are only temporary,” you gave a dramatic sigh.
“You bi-” he didn’t get to finish his sentence instead his head fell to your feet, changed back to normal.
The friend started to run and Adam made a move for him, you grabbed his arm, “Leave that one alive. He’ll learn.”
Adam nodded and went after him. As he did you packed up your stuff on the now empty beach. The few people that had been there ran when the thug changed into faunus, fearing for their lives.
“Darling, I am done. I feel lesson well learned,” Adam announced coming back over to you.
“Shame. It was such a good day,” you shook your head.
Adam approached closer and grabbed your wrist, “What have I told you about your semblance?”
You hung your head, “Not to use it in public without your permission. But he-”
“No,” Adam cut you off. “If you are in danger I will protect you. Understand?” You nodded slowly and he slipped his arm around your waist. “Good. Now, why don’t we go back to our tent and I will give you as much attention that can sate you.”
“Oh, I think that’ll be pretty tough but I applaud your attempt,” you hummed and pressed a kiss to his lips, which he gladly returned.
